Good Day everyone!  It does not matter what time of the day it is.

How was your day yesterday?  Do you have any plans for today?  Come share or just ramble with us.

Yesterday was a very busy day at work.  All the work I left on Monday and Tuesday was there waiting for me yesterday.  It was like having a Monday all over again!  But I am grateful to be feeling  so much better and to have a place to go to work.  Harris Teeter catered our office lunch yesterday.  I had gone on-line one evening after a very disappointing visit to their store and voiced my opinion about stocking their store for published sales and how 10 of their published items were not even in the store on the first day of the sale.  I did this more than 3 weeks ago.  The called me at work and asked if they could bring lunch for the entire agency.  They brought chicken breast fillets w/sauce for dipping, potato salad and rolls enough for 25+ people (I told them we had 12 people yesterday) and $25 in gift certificates for me to use on a return visit.  All of this was delivered by the new store manager and he gave a very heart felt apology for the inconvenience of visiting the store and not find the items I wanted that were on sale.

I ate one of the chicken fillets, even though it was fried.  And called that my lunch.

Today is another busy day planned at work.  There is a Support Group meeting at my surgeon's office that I want to attend this evening.  Another "pleasantly normal" day in the life of Carrie.

Hope Everyone has a WONDERFUL Thursday!

Yesterday I got some 'cleaning out' done. I couldn't believe that I still had so many 1, 2, and 3X items stashed in my dresser. I parted with a pretty big bag of undergarments and night clothes to send to GoodWill. I don't know why, but it is taking me forever to sort through stuff as I try to reduce the volume of stuff I have. It has become crystal clear that I don't 'need' any more clothes... in any size! I'll continue to work on sorting through stuff and trying to reduce the volume of stuff I have.

I am getting a late start today. I'll make up some of my beloved cottage cheese pancakes in a few minutes with some strawberries and a nice glass of milk! mmmmm...

Finals week is almost over! Thank goodness! Sarah gets out of school at 10:30 this morning after her last final. I have a Dr's appointment, then we'll do a little something to celebrate!

This evening I have an 'Over50 Support Group' and we will meet at the Greek Fiesta, so I'll likely have grilled chicken, tabouleh and some hummus for dinner.

Again!!!  Seems that i jus keep having to start over, and over and over!!!

Today is going to be up in  the air again.  I don't know if i'm going to be able to be home to work and cook or if i'm going to be off and running with the hubby again.  All i can do is try really hard to eat well and healthy!!!

Thursdays are one of my favorite days of the week.  I am off for my part time job.  It is a short day at my real job for me too.  I am usually out of work by 1:30.  But since I did not get to do my .5 hrs extra Mon and Tue, today I have to stay until 2:30.  Still not bad.  We are closed to the public in the afternoon so that we can train and catch up.  It makes for a very relaxed day.  Then FRIDAY!  Fridays are some times better than Saturdays because of the anticipation of the weekend!  Love the weekend!
Nothing to complain about.  Life is good right now.  I feel deeply for the people of Haiti and all the mess they are dealing with.  Puts stuff in perspective.
My body does not define who I am but I am trying to define my body.  It  gets easier with every pound I drop.

It has been a couple of busy days for me today is our day to just relax.Lee has a cold and is off today.
Tuesday I took mother and her nurse to have her colocoscopy done.
All turned out well no problems were found and mother seemed disapointed they did not find anything OMG
I got my workout that day just undressing her and transfering her what job. After the test while we were in recovery a nurse said to me we should of had the test done at the hospital because they have lifts and things which would make it easy on everyone to transfer her.

It is so heart breaking to see how her health is declining and her mental sharpness is not as good as it was.
She is starting to lash out on her care providers and me.
I am trying not to let it effect me but it is very draining and so stressful as I am sure it is for her too.
Yesterday I had lost my voice completly due to the stress and because of my Barretts condition.
When I am under stress my voice shuts down.
Today I am doing much better and slept pretty good.
Yesterday I cleaned my whole house rode my bike lifted weights and did situps and walked an hour.
Today I will take it easy and watch some shows and play the Xbox with Lee.

My eggplant parmesean I made the other night was great OMG I love that stuff we had what was leftover last night and I have a small amount left to have today.
I am going to make a real effort to be preparing more and more vegetarian meals and allow more chicken and turkey and fish instead of red meat.
Since surgery this is how I would rather eat.
Since Lee is back at work and he is more active I am hoping some of his weight gain will reduce.
I know I have to take care of me and it has to be my main focas.

Hello All!!!

I had an interesting trip to the ortho doc this morning. He was very thorough and really wanted to make sure I understood every single word he said. He does not think my tailbone problem is coming primarily from the arthritis. He thinks that I may have injured it this summer - more than likely riding the wave runner in rough seas, (Well duh - that's when it was the most fun) But he says that it's the same type of injury he would expect to see in someone who rode horses alot.

The combination of weight loss, injury and arthritis will make for a L......O.......N.........G........ recovery. In fact he told me to be patient that it could take up to 2 years. In the mean time I'm to "test drive" all forms of donut pillows to find the type most comfortable to my rear. He said that that my tailbone needed to not come in contact with anything for months. Nothing. Perios. kaput.  I get to tote a donut pillow with me everywehere I go. I'm so embarrassed.

He was very curious about the RNY and had tons of questions that he thanked me for being willing to discuss. He sees lots of patients who would be in less pain (if not pain free) if they'd lose weight.  I love to talk about my surgeon and my surgery so it was lots of fun for me. We also talked about how important it is for me to remain diligent about the vitamins and supplements. In part because of the RNY but also because of the hysterectomy a few years ago. He also suggested I look into Yoga classes. hmmm.... I'd been considering a class or two so I guess now I have no excuse not to.

I've got Southwest Chicken in the crock pot for when I get home. I cannot wait - it smelled so good when I ducked in on my way back to work. Oh thank goodness tomorrow is Friday and PAYDAY!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Iris,
I don't know if I've told you  this yet or not but I'm having the same problem.  My dad found a "donut" on qvc (he retired about a yr ago so he's obsessed with qvc now) and it's a cushy round twisty pillow...but not my favorite to sit on.  My sister, however, got me this rectangular sloped pillow that has the little horseshoe shape cut out of the back where your tailbone goes.  I sit on that ALLLLLL the time.  I take it with me for the car for long rides.  I was sittiing on the floor today working on lesson plans for next week and had it under me.  It's great!  Just a suggestion.  Don't know if it looks any better than a donut.  I still can't bring myself to take it to church with me.  Good luck on yur search.

See if your sister remembers where she got the rectangle "wedge" pillow. That's exactly what I'm looking for. I've got the foam donut and I just don't like where it hits me on the back of the legs.

Thanks!!

Yoga classes are great.  I am new to one now.  I have been going for a few weeks.  Just to let you know though, there is a lot of positions where you are sitting directly on your tail bone.  One is where you are a V shape with your arms and legs in the air.  Not for the faint of heart or for tail bone pain sufferers.  I have to have an extra cushion so that I can do a lot of these and I am no where near as bad in pain as you are.  The rest of the class is great.  My knees are tight and I am working at stretching the ligaments.  It is a bit painful but it is working,  Each time I am able to bend them a bit farther.  Over all, it is a great class.  I just wanted to let you know that it is  hard on the buttocks at times.

Thanks for the warning on that. I had been told to let the instructor know about the problem and to plan on bringing a thicker mat/cushion.

I found a couple of beginner yoga DVD's last night at wal-mart that look fairly interesting and I lov the yoga on Wii Fit. Who knows it may be just what I need.
