Trust me it bothers the hell out of me.
My mom it very concerned too and she made us an offer the otherday.
She said she would be willing to pay for Lee to go on Nutrasystem.
Well as I told her there would be no need to spend money on a program if he did not want to do it.
Lee is a meat and potatoes kind of guy and loves Mac and Cheese and any kind of pasta and cheese.
I have told hin all about good healthy things and problems from being overweight.
The other morning he was fixing his breakfast and OMG he had pasta and sliced huge slices of cheese to put in with the pasta.
I looked at that and started to feel really angry to see what he was eatting.
I wanted to say OMG that is a fat artery clogging meal Lee but I dd not say anything because I feel it is pointless.
I am sure that in my lifetime people probally thought some of the samethings with what I ate too.
So here I am always being very aware of what I eat and staying on track with my exersise program and my husband is getting fat and not healthy.
I am trying to be understanding and not lecture.
I did ask him if he would give the nutrasystem a two week try.
He said he would but I know his heart is not into it.
I have said things like come on Lee lets get healthy together and enjoy life together.
It is so hard to sit back and watch a loved one not help himself.

You can lead a man to diet food but you can't make him eat it!!
I sympathize. My DH went so far as to get banded! He finally go some restriction (after 4 fills), and he now weighs 4 pounds more than he did the morning of surgery. He eats around the band!! I have quit talking to him about it. He is an adult. He knows he has diabetes, high BP, and high cholesterol. If he wants to kill himself with food, I can't stop him!
Why not get him to eat healthier versions of his meat & potatoes and mac n cheese? Whole wheat pasta, low fat cheese, fat free milk... lean meats, potatoes but add more veggies in there? If he is not big on veggies pick up that book 'deceptively delicious'... its a cook book aimed at getting kids to eat their veggies by sneaking them in... but it will work for adults as well :-)
