Monday Check-in
How was your day yesterday? Do you have any plans for today? Please come share with us, feel free to ramble.
Thank you so much Judy for starting the "check-in" thread yesterday. Weekends will be "hit and miss" for me as far as getting on the forums.
My weekend could not have been any better. I started out going to the support group meeting on Saturday. I have always left our meeting feeling so much better than when I arrived. We have a fantastic group of people that are always so very supportive. Thank you so much Barbara for all that you do to make this happen for us.
After the support group meeting there was a lot of fellowship and shopping with Barbara and Lisa.
Yesterday started with breakfast out with my dh and our weekly trip for groceries and other errands. We came back home to laundry and other chores to get done to prepare for the work week. Then we were off again to Smokey Bones for lunch with friends and football.
I think I made very good food choices this weekend.
Barbara, I made your mac n cheese recipe for dinner last night. It was so very yummy. I was able to eat more of the mac than usual, but it was still very heavy on my pouch. I used the Quattro Famagio cheese instead of the American cheese and dh loved it.
Today is a work day for me, no holiday in the insurance industry. So I will start my day with 30 minutes with my gazelle this morning and will journal my food on sparkpeople.
Hope you all have a WONDERFUL day!
Hi Carrie,
I'm glad that you enjoyed the Mac and Cheese and I'm sure that the Quarto Formagio would be fabulous.... I think I would love that with a salad of spinach, tomatoes, basil and some cheese tossed with a balsamic vinaigrette. Mmmm....I think I may have to give it a try!
We went to a fund-raising dinner last night and I was delighted that we were able to enjoy without any problems and to be honest, no one had a clue that we were post WLS... It was fun to get dressed up and enjoy a lovely evening supporting a good cause and enjoying the company of friends. Ben looked fantastic in a timeless suit that he hadn't been able to wear in decades and the last time he tried it on, it was too small, but last night he looked great.
Today Ben and I need to work on getting some chores done. Later, I look forward to spending some time with Sarah this afternoon. She spent the night with a friend, so I won't see her until later today. I really love spending time with her.

I have been faithful lately in tracking what I eat on mydailyplate.com. I am really interested in seeing the breakdown of what I am eating. Yesterday was a sodium filled day and even though I have no problems with blood pressure I still feel the need to watch that.
I am looking for some new recipes today and hopefully heading to the store for some ingredients. I'm planning on trying the mac and cheese this week. It sounds great. I made the chicken corn chowder and the crockpot chicken taco stuff this weekend so I have plenty to choose from for lunches.
My baby turns 7 this week - Thursday. There is no school Thursday or Friday so we are doing cupcakes for her class Wednesday. Correction - my mom is doing cupcakes! That way I don't have to worry about it in any way (eating them included). I think Friday we'll go bowling (the kids have really started to enjoy that) and out to eat. Callee's favorite place to eat is Golden Corral. The last time I went they charged me for a 9-12 yr old buffet ($4.99) so I felt ok about that.
Later today I'm thinking of taking the kids to the park if iti's as nice out today as it was yesterday. haven't even checked yet. Hope everyone has a great Monday!
Yesterday was a good day up till the evening.... i have a problem from 8PM to midnight... i seem to eat as much, if not more than i do all day!!! I know it's just "head hunger", but i give in to it instead of taking control of it. I've got to work on that... i'll NEVER lose these last pounds unless i do!!!
Today is a new day and it's going to be a beauty!!! It's a shame that i have to work and can't spend the day outside playing!!! But I think I'll squeeze in a good long walk. My food will be good & healthy. And i'm going to work on that evening intake.... Those are today's goals. I can only work on one day at a time!
I'm having the same problem from 2-6pm. I just want to snack all afternoon. I found out recently that the kinds of foods may have an effect on that. I'm eating way too many carbs during that time and I know when I eat carbs they don't stay with me and actually make me hungrier. Do you notice that? I have to make sure for my afternoon snack that I have some cheese or yogurt. I feel the same way though about the losing the last few pounds. I right at the end (last 2 or 3) and they seem impossible to get rid of.
Good luck!
Yesterday was a nice day and Lee and I played a game of Golf on the Xbox and then watched a great movie called Bolt.
Together we worked on perfecting the grilled beef ribs.
They did turn out tender and I ate a small amount on my salad plate along with some veggies but to tell you the truth to much fat!!!! I cant stand heavy stuff like I did at one time.
Tonight I am going to make my eggplant parmesean and add some zuchinni and fresh basil and tomatoes I am looking forward to this.
I have come up with an idea about meals and that is one night I will cook what Lee likes and then the following night cook foods lighter and geared towards vegatarian stuff.
Many times I will cook what he likes but I always have something that I can eat and tolerate better.
Going to do my elliptical today and some laundry.
Going to go see my mom later today.
I will be taking mother for a colonoscopy tomorrow and I know she is very concerned about having to take the heavy duty laxitive before the test.
Mother cant walk any more and transfering she cant do without assistance.
I am happy and feeling great.

Whew!!! It really is Monday and thankfully I'm alive and well. It has been one exhausting weekend.
Wayne Thomas (WT) is healing nicely. We had a followup appointment this morning at 9 a.m. with his surgeon to remove the packing and internal splints. I honestly had no idea that you could cram so much stuff up someones nose. It was very, very, very painful for him this morning. Luckily his surgeon was one of the most compassionate people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. WT goes back for a follow up appointment and to have the external splinting removed next Monday.
I've spent the Afternoon at the dermatologist having a place/freckle/mole on my shoulder biopsied and removed. Skin cancer runs in our family. I'm not overly concerned about the outcome because I keep on top of these things but this one seemed to come out of no where.
Food: I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not - BUT - I haven't been stress eating this weekend. I should really be celebrating that but it's a mixed blessing because I simply haven't wanted to eat. PERIOD. There's got to be a better balance than all or nothing. One day I hope to find it.
Exercise: I've certainly been active this weekend. I'm taking it easy this afternoon but I'll be doing my "floor" exercises prior to bedtime.
