Sunday Morning Check-In
Goody couldn't make it here this morning, so i told her i would do this for her. So.... i guess i need to start with:
How was your day yesterday? Do you have any plans for today? Please come share with us. Feel free to ramble
Yesterday was a good day for me! With our change of plans we were able to make the monthly meet up that Barbara runs in Raleigh. I was able to chat with old friends, make new ones and learn and be touched by everyone there.... And... i got to meet Carrie (Goody) in person!!! It's always really nice getting to meet the people you chat with here!!! So the day was off to a really good start.
On the way home Stan and I decided to go to an afternoon movie. The only one that was just starting when we got there was "It's Complicated" with Merle Streep. We didn't really expect much, but were pleasantly surprised. It was a light, entertaining and funny movie.
On the way home we stopped for dinner and again were pleasantly surprised!!! We went to a place called Pei Wei... we've never been there... just happened to see it. We were quite surprised to learn that it was PF Chang's (one of our favorite restaurants) version of "fast food". the same good food... no long lines and no long wait!!! We had a couple of our favorite things... Hot & Sour Soup and Pad Thai (Eat your heart out, Dalton!!!)
Finally we headed home and had a quiet evening... All in all a really good day!!!
Today.... well, it's a reainy morning here, so we'll probably just hang around the house, get some chores done, maybe watch another movie. Sounds like a really good plan to me!!! Food... don't know yet what i'll fix for dinner... I only know that it will be good, healthy food and it won't be Chinese!!! LOL!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. Don't forget to stop by here and share it us!!
Going to HT in a few.
Lee is off today and he his planning on grilling this afternoon.
That man loves to grill keeping in mind I gave him a duel grill for Christmas.
One part is gas and the other is charcoal.
I will try some of what he is cooking but no promise if I will be able to do it.
I seem to do best with his beer can chicken but he is cooking ribs today so we will see.

Hi All,
After the support group meeting yesterday, I enjoyed hauling around with Carrie and Lisa. We stopped in at World Market and I picked up a couple of soup mixes; one lentil and one bean. I often split them into two because they make up more than we can possibly eat. They are a great way to throw together a quick dinner, especially if I have Ben or Sarah do it for me. They just follow the directions and VOILA a healthy dinner packed with protein and fiber!
After that we trundled over to Kohl's so that I could get a slimmer to manage my 'muffin top.' After the photos from the Atlanta OH Convention, I've decided that I will probably wear one anytime I'm wearing anything that might display my jiggly tummy. Kohl's is having a foundations sale and I was able to find a waist slimmer by Maidenform that is really comfortable, affordable and most importantly works! I have tried the Spanx that come up from the bottom up, but they always seem to 'roll down.' I have also tried some of the corset style tops, but they always roll up. It looks like this will work without rolling up or down. Here's a link to the one I got http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/intimates/shapewear/camisolestops/PRD~340624/Maidenform+Control+It+Strapless+Camisole.jsp
It comes in a variety of sizes... up to 2X, I think.
Finally, we made a run to Trader Joe's to stock up on some goodies. I always love Trader Joe's. It's full of so many wonderful things that we can enjoy and indulge in. Of course there are some things that aren't in our best interest, but they have so much that is.
When I got home, I took care of puppies, cleaned house, did laundry and made dinner so that we had a warm, lovely dinner together.
I called and talked with my mom for a while and ended the evening snuggling my favorite girl.
Not a bad day.
Today, I made breakfast for the girl, then we spent the morning snuggling in bed and giggling. Good for the soul! I'll be making lunch from leftovers from last night's dinner and then take Sarah to a friend's house for the afternoon and evening.
Tonight Ben and I are going to a fund-raising ****tail party with friends. I look forward to getting all dolled up in some sweet little black dress and Ben in his dark suit. I need to try to remember to get a photo. It will be one of the first times we will have gotten all dressed up since we've both been a 'normal' size in nearly 30 years! I'm looking forward to it and enjoying the company of friends.
