Friday Morning check-in
Can you tell that I am so very happy it's Friday?
Good Morning Everyone!
How was your day yesterday? Do you have any plans for today? Please come share with us.
I am celebrating because I only have one more work day to get through before I can relax, regroup, refocus and remind myself to take it one day at a time. This has been a trying week to say the least, but " I will survive"! (That song just keeps playing over and over in my mind). Yesterday was not the best when it came to food choices. I was very munchie and tended to graze a lot through the day and did not have the best to choose from since I was on appointments and at the mercy of my clients most of the day. But I did make better choices then I would have before RNY. Yesterday is Gone and today is here.
Today I will make better choices.
Iris, I will have you and your sons in my thoughts and prayers today.
Barbara, you are right about your grads group, I wi**** was closer so that I could manage to attend also. But there is tomorrow's meetup and I always feel so much better when I get to attend. I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
I hope everyone has a FANTASTIC day!
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers - I'll need them.
Yesterday ended up being a good day. I even planned in some stress eating snacks and ended up not eating even a third of them. I did find myself taking a bite of them here and there and opening th fridge to see what was in there. Luckily that protein shake was sitting there front and center waiting for me.
I've had a few minutesof quiet time this morning to sorta get myself centered and ready to face the day. It's amazing to watch the sunrise where I live. This morning was no exception - just the reminder that I needed that God is in control. The other incredible thing to having a quiet house was being able to sit here and listen to everyone snoring. Buddy, Wayne and David sound like they don't have a care in this world. That's a whole different level of contentment. It makes my soul Happy.
Today I"ll make the best food choices possible. I'm sure that fast food will be involved so I'll probably go the grilled chicken salad route (unless I can have my way and have Wendy's Chili). Getting my water in shouldn't be an issue since I think my water bottles are permanently attached to my body now.
I do have to run to WalGreens and pick up more vitamins but I keep a "back up " bottle from when I was trying different brands. There were a few types that I hated - so I tossed a few of those and gave some away to folks who could swallow them whole and didn't have to endure chewing them up but Centrum Chewables weren't too terribly bad (chalkier and not as "orangy" as the Optisource that I settled on) so I keep those on hand. Actually I keep the Optis on my desk at work and take the centrums on days I don't work.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'll probably jump on here for a minute or after we get home from surgery this evening.

I haven't been here for the past couple of days. As we all know, Life sometimes interferes with our plans.
My travel plans for this weekend have changed and so I'll be able to attend the Saturday morning meetup @ Golden Corral and hubby & I were able to attend last nights "grad group" meetup. I have to admit, the grad group is my favorite of the meet ups. It's always a smaller, more intimate group. More like just a bunch of friends going out to dinner together. Always a really nice feel to that meetup.
Last night was especially small, only 4 of us. But maybe that was part of "God's great plan"! The result was that we were able to have a very personal discussion that really helped hubby in some tough days he's been having. It was great!
I, too, am happy it's Friday... it'sbeen a busy, difficult week!! I'm really glad it's over. I'll be working hard today, but will float thru a quiet, peaceful weekend... can't wait!!!
Barb, Jen.... it was good seeing you last night!!! Thanks for everything!!!
I used it last night but had a few alarms going off during the night has I had to keep arranging my mask.
I am sure after a week the results will show a change in the original settings.
walked this morning and getting ready to do my elliptical for 30 minutes then run errands.
As for meals today one of my favorite light meals is 3 bean salad with some turkey breast cut up and some balsimic viniger on top will have some healthy choice black bean soup later.
For dinner I am making my spinach and feta cheese pizza which I enjoy much better than take out.
Rarly do I eat the crust usally a few bites but usally just eat the toppings and am happy with that.
FYI I found some great plastic storage boxes at HT they are great to store cut up veggies in for a light snack.
I enjoy black bean hummas as a dip with the raw veggies.
The storage boxes are called Lock & Lock something like that they are a featured product that on certain weeks you can buy this or that set.

Well... better late than never I guess.
I can't tell you how much I appreciated the support and friendship from last night's Grad Group. I really needed it and I think I was doing most of the getting support last night, so it's good to hear that helped Judy and Stan. Judy's right, it is really more like old friends getting together for dinner. It and the Beck Group have become my personal favorite support group meetings. I get something out of all of them, but those are much more intimate and to be honest, meet my personal needs the most. That said, I'm also looking forward to tomorrow's General meeting. It looks like it will be a rather small gathering tomorrow. Maybe 15 to 20 max, but hopefully we'll gather steam as the new year unfolds.
