Humpday Check-in
How was your day yesterday? What are your plans for today? Please share.
Yesterday was a very stress filled day for me. There are going to be major changes at work in the next few weeks due to the economy and it just makes me physically sick! I am back to not sleeping again, so I have been up all night trying to be productive without waking my dh. I spent the long night time hours questioning my whole being. Where does the fine line between loyalty to your employer and loyalty to yourself start or end? When in a moral dilemma where do you turn? I work for 2 gentleman that are polar opposites. One of whom I have been employed by for over 20 years and the other for only 8 years. Am I obligated to one (equal partner) more than the other? I am confused, stressed and hurting for those who will be effected by the upcoming changes. But for once in my life, I accept that eating is not the answer. I know if I did eat for comfort right now, it would only come right back up. My pouch does not do well with stress of any kind. I am in an emotional turmoil right now and do not have any idea where to turn.
For today my plans are to get through the work day the best way I can. I already had a massage appointment after work, I just hope I will be able to enjoy it when I get there. It is part of a Christmas gift and I would reschedule if I hadn't already done so twice. I should probably stay with soft foods today just in case Ms. Picky Pouch decides to show herself. I have a full schedule of appointments in addition to the drama that will probably start today.
Enough doom and gloom ramblings!
Hope you all have an enjoyable Wednesday!
I am up with the chickens myself.
Lee has a test this morning at UNC so I figured I better get up and do my morning stuff.
Miss Bubbles got upset with a small amount of a cheese and ham omlet the other night and I had the foamies most all night.Ive been doing well with eggs but not monday night.
Thank God for hot tea it always seems to help when I get that stuck feeling.
I went to pick up some meds yesterday for Lee and OMG new year and havent met the deductable so I had to leave the medication at the pharmacy till we can get it.
After Lee's test I plan on attending my al-anon meeting at noon.
Come home and workout and figure something out for dinner.

Having been in the position of knowing the axe would fall and who was in harm's way, I can empathize with the pain of your position. Like you, this kind of thing literally makes me heartsick and I know comes with significant psychological and physical side effects.
I think that you do need to take care of you first, because to be honest, that is what the 'company' will do... Take care of themselves first. That doesn't mean to do so without thought and/or consideration of your employer; but, with you, that goes without saying. I don't know that the number of years that you have been with each partner matters as much as where they are coming from and if you can 'comfortably' support it, from a moral perspective. Whatever happens, you need to be able to sleep once it is all said and done. I know you well enough by now to know that you already do this. Remember that you do function with your moral compass and that, ultimately, will hold you in good stead in the long run.
I also applaud you for recognizing that a couple of years ago you would have devoured your stress, quite literally, but now you are recognizing it and working to find constructive ways to manage it. KUDOS!! Your recognition and action are the keys to your long-term success. It is one thing to manage your food choices under 'normal cir****tances' ... even then, it can be like a shooting the rapids ..., but it's when you are under extreme stress, like you are now, that it's so very hard keep your bearings.
Try to fully indulge and 'engage' yourself in your massage. When you are laying there and your minds starts to wander to the challenges you are facing, be 'in the moment', feel the pressure, the stroking, the warmth and focus on how good it feels... not, whether you should, or shouldn't or how distressing the day has been or tomorrow may be, but just how wonderful it feels and smells at that very moment. You deserve to enjoy this gift. However, if you truly feel you cannot, please contact the massage therapist and let them know what is going on and get their feedback. That said, I think you should go and can focus on the moment and enjoy the relaxation.
I am running a few errands today. Meeting a dear friend for lunch at a wonderful Mediterranean restaurant that has some wonderful things that we can enjoy without guilt and then entertaining some families that will be coming to visit our puppies. I stripped the last of the wallpaper from my bathroom last night. Next, I'm going to start repairing the walls and preparing to paint. I'm also looking at changing out the bathroom counter top and toilet on broken shoestring budget.
I have some chicken and a roast in the fridge, so I need to figure out which I'm going to do for dinner tonight. Maybe the roast... I think I can throw it in the crock pot this morning before I get started today and I'm sure that the leftovers would make a wonderful soup... mmmmm.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Eating today should be okay. I've got my meals and snacks planned out. I also made sure when I left home this morning that I slid the Wii Balance board out from under the coffee table so it'll be the first thing I see when I walk in the door this evening. Nothing like a little guilt to motivate me into a workout. Once I get started I love it but there is just that little voice that can talk me into being a couch potato instead.
Hope everyone has a great humpday!!! I challenge you to do something fun today. Make sure you tell me about it tomorrow.
