My first Christmas Present to me.... I tried on my wedding dress...
and it fit. Well, almost. It's a size 5 and I could get it on and zipped up to the bra line... oh well. That was one of my wildest goals and I'm happy to be able to get in it as good as i did. I posted a photo if you want to see a circa 1975 wedding dress.
Merry Christmas Ya'll.

Hi Alice,
You look just lovely in your dress and I'll bet if you wait a few months for the post surgical swelling to subside you might actually get it zipped. Either way, you look just radiant. You must have been a beautiful young bride.
Unlike you, I can't fit into mine anymore. Mine was a size 22 and I hope to never be able to fit into it again. That said, it still hangs in the closet... I don't know why though.
Congratulations on your phenomenal success. Thanks so much for sharing it with us.
Hugs,

Barbara,
I had the same experience. I wore my mom's and she was a size 12/14 maybe but much taller so we took the extra length and made gussetts (sp?) so the dress would fit my size 18 frame (after marriage and two kids it increased to size 22!).
Congrats, Alice. I know what a good feeling it was to put that on and have it fit that much! Especially a size 5!!!

Alice,
You look great in your wedding dress. A size 5 in 1975 was a lot smaller than size 5 today so way to go! I wish I still had my wedding dress from 1973, It was a size 5 also I think. I loaned it to someone and never got it back. It was not an expensive dress but I would still love to have it. It was made of "dotted swiss", if anyone even remembers that material. I am really telling my age with this.

It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love that is put into them that matters.

Thanks! I wish you could get it back.... I use to put mine on every year on my anniversary until I was pregnant and haven't fit in it since.
My bridesmaids dresses were dotted swiss in rainbow colors. Boy, wedding attire sure has changed alot since the mid 70s!
Merry Christmas!
