Tuesday check-in
Last night I had my Christmas with my adopted family, Lisa and Katie. What a fantastic time we had. Katie entertained us the entire evening. At 13, she is such a joy and I am so grateful that I get to be a part of her life.
Well I took Annie's advise, I went to Wally World yesterday morning on my way to work and purchased a 32 oz sippie cup. She stated she filled her's with a Crystal Light type drink. I drank 3 of those cups full of "Crystal Light". Yeah! I already have it filled and chilling in the freezer so I can start drinking as soon as I finish my coffee and have some breakfast.
Someone else also suggested Tylenol PM for my sleep problems. I tried that last night and slept through the night and slept hard and restfully.
I want to let everyone know how much I appreciate any and all advise I receive. I know with your help, I will feel the excitement my friend Sandy is feeling as I get closer to my own goal. Again Congratulations are your accomplishments, Sandy. I just know you are as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside.
Today I will again make a game with my fluids and get in at least 64 oz. I will also try and make the wisest food choices for the day.
Wishing each and everyone a FANTASTIC Tuesday!
I am ready for Christmas. I only have to find a Mad Magazine. If I don't find one he will survive. I always put them in my son's stocking. It started with my brother always getting one. My boys loved Uncle Travis' Mad Magazines. So, I began the tradition with them. It is getting harder and harder to find them. Ack!
Got to get back to work. Thanks for listening and have a wonderful day. Merry Christmas!
That means packing, wrapping, dropping off gifts for my family that's here - getting the car cleaned out and ready to go. I've got laundry that needs to be done before I pack. I can't find my Ugg boots. Did David's exwife send enough clothes for the kids or do I need to repack for them. What about Santa - is it well hidden? I've become Clark W. Griswold and created these visions of grandeur in my mind over the "Pope Family Christmas".
PLUS I'm still weird about "My Food" so just how much do I need to take with me. I have to have a plan when it comes to my eating or else I'll be nibbling. Stress + Nibbling is not good for me. I think I'll take stuff to do a protein shake for breakfast so at least that way my day will have started out good (this is a family that doesn't think it was breakfast unless it was carb laden and covered in syrup). And if I need to I can make a smoothie in the evening to balance things out.
When I post pictures next week - yall hold me accountable to my water bottle. I intend to have it with me 24/7 so it should show up in some of my pics.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to One and all. I probably won't have a chance to be back on board until next week.
- Iris

Hi Carrie,
I really appreciate your daily thread and I hope that it will help breathe some life back into our NC forum. It used to be such a lively, supportive group and has waned... I think as we move farther from our surgery date... especially as we move past our first year, we tend to wander off since we don't have those daily wows and don't see the daily struggles as clearly as we do while we are actively working on losing. But actively working on maintaining and/or getting off those last few pounds is work that needs to be done as well, so I hope that people will hang in there for the long term.
Yesterday we sent off the last packages... and what did I find last night? Something that was left out. Oh well! Maybe we'll send those out later... They are just little home made ornaments anyway. I think Ben forgot to put my holiday cards in the mail when he was at the post office, so if he did, I'll do that today.
We were invited to join our neighbors for dinner last night and I took desert which was a bunch of cookies. Most were a lower sugar and/or lower fat version, but they were enjoyed by all and I got to make holiday cookies without feeling guilty about it or enjoying one either.
I need to run to our local "Ollie's" to get a carpet runner for our hallway, then home to bake some more cookies and wrap Sarah's packages. I need to take photos of the puppies too. OMGoodness, they are sooo cute! I know I'm prejudiced, but puppies are puppies and they ARE TOO CUTE!
I'm hoping to sort of wind down this afternoon. Oh! I almost forgot! I've made jewelry for my DILs, but I have to head down to my studio this afternoon or tomorrow and be sure to make something special for my girl too!
Have a great day all!
Hugs,
Barbara

One of the reasons, I started doing this thread to put in writing some of my ramblings and to make myself accountable for commitments I make to myself. I have so much "stinking thinking" in my life. I also find it hard to be consistant in a journal. So if I just write down my thoughts for the day and then come back the next day and reflect on what I was able to accompli**** makes me more accountable.
Another reason was that I was hoping it would start generating more activity on this forum. Like you, I enjoyed the activity the forum had in the past. I love hearing about everyone's day or thoughts and ramblings. It makes me realize I am not alone in a lot of my thoughts.
Hope you have a GREAT day!
