Hey ya'll! ( I feel like Paula Deen) Anyways...I haven't posted in a a very long time but here I am. I was talking to Sandy and we thought about how much we enjoyed Jami's baby shower/meeting that we thought it would be great to do it as a Christmas party of sorts. Sandy is offering up her house again on December 12, which is a week from this Saturday. From 2- until whenever you wanna leave. We thought it would be great to have a pot luck as we did before and maybe bring a wrapped present with a $10 limit and we can do a gift exchange too! We all had loads of fun the last time. Let's get together and have even more fun. I know its a busy time of year for everyone but you can come by for a little or stay awhile. It would be great to see everyone. And any new people would be great too. SOOOOO all of ya'll in Wilmington, Hampstead, Jacksonville, New Bern, Cherry Point, anywhere you are welcome.. just respond here and let us know!

Hello...I will be having my bypass surgery on Dec. 17th. I am looking for a support group to get involved and learn from. I had a question about the optifast. Why do I have to drink it for 2 weeks? How common is this, because my sister just had her RNY last week in MD and only had to fast 1 night before the surgery. Thanks for any clarity...
Hi Renee. My doctor wanted me to do a low carb diet for two weeks with the last 48 hours being a liquid diet. The diet is to shrink the liver so that the liver is out of the way and the procedure is easier. The liquid diet is (i imagine) so that there is nothing on your stomach and your bowels are not as full. The doctors are all different and require their patients to do different things. We all have wondered about this from the beginnings of time. lol Just follow your doctors orders and make sure you call him or his nurse if you have any problems. That is what you pay for. Will we be seeing you this Saturday at the get together?
