~FREE~ plastic surgery?

I know, I've heard it's available, and I've heard it's an urban legend.  But I'm curious if anyone here really knows it's possible, or available, out there some place?  Preferably in NC? 

I heard that there is a burn center in PA that does it in exchange for donated skin, and I also heard that Duke does it.  But I have no real realiable sources for that info.  And, could they use our skin for that?  I've seen skin grafts created in the OR, and they don't need a lot of skin to make one, but I don't know if our skin is quality enough for that? 

I spoke with a local plastic surgeon here, who said he thought it sounded like a good enough thing to check into. 

So, who knows anything about it? 

Last I checked into this and was told no one does this anymore.  If you find anything different..post it!

When I attended a support group meeting at Duke re: plastics someone asked about it and they said that they didn't do it. I don't know of any programs that do. Please let us know if you do hear of anything.
