Congratulations on getting a surgery date.  I will hopefully be receiving one soon.  Do you have to do a liquid diet or anything prior to your surgery?  Everyone's surgeon has different protocols.  Keep us updated.

It is exciting/nerve wrecking isn't it!?  I'm from the High Point area.  I haven't had surgery yet either, but my date is 12/7.   I'd love to talk to you and watch your progress!

The nurse called me last Friday before submitting anything to insurance and asked which "Monday in December would be good for me?"  Of course I chose the first one, the 7th.   On Monday of this week she submitted for approval and I was approved yesterday.   So, 2 days for me.

Congrats to everyone else waiting for surgery day! :)

Hi,
My revision surgery is next Fri, 11-20. I'll be going from a proximal RNY to a distal RNY. I'm from the Charlotte area. Congrats on getting your surgery date.

Wow! A whole slew of newbies here. Welcome to you all.

Wishing one and all of you all the best as you make this life changing journey.

I have to say that the weight loss portion of the journey is incredible and will change your life in ways you can't possibly imagine. The changes that you will make in your life that will help you to take off the weight and then to maintain that loss and all of the associated gains is another journey. I think you will make some lifelong friends here along the way... At least I have.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Wow! alot of you ladies are having surgery about 1 year after me. I had RNY 12-10-08. As my "surgiversary" approaches, I reflect on the past year and say "wow!".  I have lost 110 lbs.  Even though people say how good I look-I never really think about that-It's how I feel. I am the person inside that could never shine through all the layers that protected me.
This journey is not an easy one, but it is well worth the effort. I go to counseling once a week and work a 12 step program to deal with my food addiction. I am Harder-Better-Faster-Stronger!!!!!!!!!
Get ready for the ride of your life!

Congratulations on getting a date! This is an exciting journey. It is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I have never had one minute of  the "buyers remorse" you may hear about. Stay positive and remember the reasons you sought this path when the "negative Nellies" chime in.

(I am in North Wilkesboro.)
