Hi I am Pam I am in Tennessee my surgery is Wednesday as well...how are you doing with everything?.. I could you some advise as well I am very excited but also nervous. I guess no one can really help with that but talking with people going through the same thing seems to help some.
Best of Luck

First of all good luck to both of you on your upcoming surgeries. I think the thing that helped me the most was going to the grocery store and making sure I had the liquids I needed when I got home. Of course I bought more than I needed. But I had to have clear liquids for two weeks then full liquids for two weeks. So I bought broth, SF jello and pudding, and especially SF popsicles, these were great. The broth was good when I was sick of sweet stuff like protein shakes. I also had samples of protein shakes so I could try different ones. I had been given the individual blender, like the silver bullet but generic, and I still use it for my protein shakes.
For the hospital I took a robe, slippers, gown, and things to wear home. Also lip gloss and something to read and my laptop. Of course my toothbrush and toothpaste and makeup.
The main thing for the hospital is get up and walk as soon as you can and when you are home rest awhile, sip awhile, walk awhile and repeat.
Again, good luck for successful surgeries and recoveries.

It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love that is put into them that matters.

Chapstick. Make sure you pack chap stick and I took one of my pillows from home - not only did it make me more comfortable in the hospital but it was nice to get propped up with on the ride home (my ride was 2 and a half hours)

think Happy thoughts - we're here for ya.

Try to relax and go with the flow. It will be so much easier if you can do that.
