Halloween's Past

I had the most delightful sight tonight.
A young couple brought thier little girl up to our door for trick or treats and OMG it was soo cute.
The little girl was dressed in a lamb costume it was so cute I loved it.
In years past I always made Lee answer the door.
I thought about this tonight and what I  relized is when I was SMO I was to ashamed to go to the door.
BTW I had two pieces of Halloween candy it tasted just like it always had but I could tell two was just enough.
Anything leftover's will go on Lee's desk. There is will stay and I really wont worry about it any more.

Our Halloween was a complete bust :( WE had not a single trick or treater all night. It was really strange. What we saw was the younger kids in the neighborhood dressed for trick or treating get into their parents cars and drive out of our block. Only about four houses even had the lights on and ours was one of them. We are a new development and the neighborhood is full of kids but they chose to head for some of the 'rich' neighborhoods last night. WE turned our lights off at 9 pm. Now I have two bags of halloween candy hanging out here. No Laffy Taffy though. We didn't get that kind LOL! So it isn't calling out to me. But my DAKs are taking a few now and again. One bag isn't open so I may find a way to donate it somewhere. Maybe my DD can take it to work and split it up with her fellow officers to have in their cars for when they have to calm a kid down or something. There are a lot of lollipops. Or she can take it to her reserve training next weekend. I know the soldiers would appreciate it. Problem solved.

We live in a neighborhood where the houses are on 1 to 4 acre lots and set back from the road a bit, so the kids have to REALLY work for it.

I bought 3 big bags of candy totaling more than 300 peices that I don't really like for the Trick or Treaters. Ben and two of our neighbors set up 'camp' at the end of one of our driveways with firepit and welcomed the Trick or Treaters. I made Sarah's costume and one for her friend... I may upload a photo later. At any rate, my neighbor and I walked our young teens through the neighborhood as they gathered their evening bounty and we enjoyed seeing the other children on the hunt.  Our walk around our neighborhood took us on a 2 mile walk. I commented to my neighbor how much easier this walk has been the last couple of years, compared with the years before. It's amazing how much easier it is to walk up and down the hills when you are carring the weight of an extra full grown woman with you. LOL When we go back home we sat with the neighbors around the firepit as we watched a few more groups of kids come by and the girls headed off to sort through their respective bounty, trading for the best mix... Finally, we gave away every last piece of candy. We visited and enjoyed the company of our neighbors until about 11pm.

It was a lovely evening and seemed to be enjoyed by all.

That sounds like a very nice evening I love sitting around a fire with friends.
i got some bike capri's the other day that will be part of my compression therapy that will start in early November.
I feel almost normal in them and how I wish I could just talk my dogs for a walk wearing them.
I asked Lee how I looked in them he said good but what I really want to know is do I look normal in them.                                                            Annie

Annie,

I think that you do look 'normal.' I know that you have had so many years where you felt as though you were a 'spectical,' but that isn't the case anymore. While you might not be a small as you wanted to be, you are well within 'normal' ranges and I would say that now you may find that people won't 'stare' at you as they have in the past or look past you, but they 'see' you, the warm, smiling, 'normal' sized woman that you are today.

Enjoy your capri pants and take the dogs for a walk... But, it might be a bit nippy to do it today.

I do hope I can walk the dogs in my capri pants one day.
If I can walk in my sports tops I expect one day I will wear my capri pants too.
I just got off the elliptical and did my weights.
Getting ready for Atlanta is like having to move heaven and earth but I can do it.So much to do.
