Approved and pre op visit ......

I received my call yesterday from Karen in Dr. Farell's office.  I have been approved, and my pre op visit will be 10/19/09!

I'm going to request that surgery be the week of 10/26/09.  

Whoo Hoo......

Sharon and I were at the hospital today we went to go visit Teresa we looked for you as we were walking all over.

Ohh..I'm sorry I miss you two.  Whenever you come in, just remember, Main Hospital, two escalator's up to Hope.     I'm in Urology, and sure enough, as soon as you get on top of the second escalator, You are looking right at me.  

I hope Teresa is doing well.   She is in my prayers as well as you and Sharon, and all my OH friends.

Hi Hope I will remember two escalators up to Hope LOL how cute.
We will make plans to come have lunch with you let me know when would be good.I have always wanted to try the cafe at Childrens.

Hey glad you got that call i know i was a wreck waiting and  then getting denied and doing my appeal i won but needly to say congrats and i will have my pre op 10/15/09 and 10/29/09 is my big day  but i got you in my prayers  and wish you all the luck in the world please keep in touch

Hey! Do you mind me asking what were the reasons for the denial? I am going for my pre-op visit on Tuesday and then the office will send my information to insurance. I know every insurance company is different, but I would love any information I can gather.

I was denied at first also the reason bcbs gave was I needed and updated physh eval I switched from Duke to UNC no big deal have an evaluation and hand wrote a letter which I delivered to bcbs on what life is like for a SMO person I was approved two weeks later.

Thanks for the info. I am nervous about getting approved by insurance. I have completed all of the pre-op appointments and am meeting with my surgeon on Tuesday to get my surgery date. Funny, it is already deemed "medically necessary" but insurance still may turn it down because I haven't been this "fat" for at least two years. I have ALWAYS been overweight, but not this overweight.

Oh well, only time will tell. Thank you for your help!
