GAS!!!
I have had some pretty bad epigastric (middle of my stomach below my breast bone) pains for the past few days. I was beginning to think my gall bladder was acting up or either maybe I had developed myself and ulcer. Just in case last night I took a laxative and some gas x. Took more gas x today. Once laxative worked I have felt much better. However, I still feel little gas pockets catch like under my ribs. Just seems the gas won't move. I am walking lots. Any suggestions? Is it normal to have to take gas x everyday after RNY? I had tried probiotics also, but seems when I started taking them is when this all started.

:::knocking on wood::: I've never had the bad gas experience {RNY 2 yrs out} but was warned that the first year I would experience excessive gas. And I know many people who have it lessen with time for them. How far out are you?

I am almost 4 weeks out. Seems I may be doing a little better with the gas x. I think I am sipping a lot of air when I drink my water. I try not, but I really think that is what is happening.

Hi Michelle,
I'd really give your Dr a call. While some folks tend to have issues with gas right after surgery, I really haven't heard many people complain about gas pains once the gas from surgery disapates.
