New to NC One Year Post OP & Looking into PS
I saw my PCM on Sept 17th for a referral for my excess skin issues and have been told I will have something in the mail in the next week with the information of a plastic surgeon. I am anxious and excited about the possibilities.
I've attached the pic my weight loss center took right before I moved as well
Hi Carey,
First of all, I'd like to warmly welcome to NC and the NC forum. I host a fairly large support group in Raleigh and believe it or not we have a number of folks who drive up from Fayetteville to attend the meetings. If you'd like to join us, please do let me know. We'd be delighted to welcome you and get to know you.
I am not aware of the plastic surgeon's in your local area. I have talked with several in the Raleigh area and can make some recommendations if you like.
Congratulations on your amazing transformation and metamorphosis.
Wishing you all the best,
Barbara

The gentleman I spoke to in regard to my referral said they would probably be sending me to Raleigh for my plastic surgery referral. Once I get the information I will see if perhaps you know something. I am anxious to get it!
Hi Carey,
You are most welcome to bring your 4 year four year old. We have folks bring their babies, children, spouses, friends, etc... Our general meeting is mostly social networking. I do have special speakers once in a while, but the focus is on networking and sharing experiences. You can get more information about our upcoming meetings at www.meetup.com/nc-wls.
There are several plastic surgeons in the area. One that has done an informational seminar for us and has worked on several of our members is Dr. Karl Schwarz in Raleigh NC... I think his website is www.schwarzps.com.
I look forward to meeting you.

Plastic surgey is exciting and scary stuff. Do your research and go on many consults to find the surgeon that is right for you.
I had an anchor cut tumy tuck with Dr. Oschwald 9/27/2007. I am very happy with my results. Pics on profile.
Good luck with your planning. Feel free to ask me any questions.

PS I see your in Moore county. We have a monthly support group meeting that everyone is welcome to attend. Our support group meeting is Thursday October 1st at 7:00PM. here is the copy of the info for the next meeting
Are you looking for new ways of getting and staying active?
Join us for October support group where Kris Hoyt of SafeSkills Movement Arts, a patient of FirstHealth Bariatric Center, herself, will lead you through an exploration of martial arts movement and breathing exercises.
Kris's goal here is to "share the benefits she has gotten from martial arts training with people who are following a similar path of getting re-acquainted with their body and the joys of moving it around."
"Discover how martial arts can make you feel both stronger and more energized, relaxed and more peaceful and feel good about what your body CAN do."
Wear clothes that you are comfortable performing light movement in. You are welcome to come and observe even if you do not choose to participate.
Here is a link to the website for SafeSkills Movement Arts, if you are interested in learning more about what is offered at their facility in Durham: <http://www.safeskills.com/>
The October support group dates are 10/1 in Pinehurst at 7 PM in the conference center at the hospital, and 10/12 in Raleigh at 6:30 PM at Embassy Suites Crabtree.
ALSO
We invite you to join us, and your fellow support group members, Saturday, November 21st, in Pinehurst, for the 29th annual "Turkey Trot".
We will be doing the 5K, which you may choose to walk or run. If you do not feel comfortable doing the entire 5K, you are welcome to split-up legs of the race with a fellow member.
Attached is a flyer with more information and instructions for registration. After you register, please send us a reply, letting us know to be expecting you.

I am not planning on attending this month. I have an appt in Pinehurst next week and really don't want to make the drive 2 in less than a week.
I plan on being there next time. I usually attend at least 10 meetings a year. Not sure what the topic will be next month.
