I'm happy your surgery went well and your recovery is going well too.  How long were you in the hospital?  I'll keep you in my prayers and good luck.

I was in for 3 nights and got out on Thursday.  I had a reaction to the general anethesia and spent Tuesday with lots of Anti-emetics.  (nausua- meds) and 2 IV's  But still was able to get up and walk albeit very slowly.

Knowledge is power. Research and ask questions. Know as much as possible, that way you will have no supprises. That was my approach and I am very happy with the results. I am at 178 pounds and my highest weight was 334. I went from having HBP and cholesteral to taking only vitamins. At 55 ...I am riding my horse again, Going down waterslides and anything else I want to. I fit in booths in resturants and revolving gates. I can walk without tiring. I can wear clothes bought in normal sizes and wear shirts that don't go down to my knees. I am not ashamed to get up in front of a crowd.  The only draw back is sometimes my brain forgets I have lost weight.
I do have to watch my portion sizes and chew my food really good. I do have to eat slow. I do have to stay away from sugar(It makes me dump) not all wls people do that.  I do take many vitamins. If I don't follow the rules that pertain to me I will throw up or get sick. Soooooo   I follow the rules.
It is not a cure but a tool......we still have to be careful you can gain weight back. But the tool is a big help.

   Do your research.
ask questions    visit the different sites    go to support group meetings even before wls. This way you can speak to people. You will be welcome at these meetings. They are all over.
The people here all know and understand where you are coming from.
Good Luck

Myrtis,
Thanks for your encouragement! :-)  I read on your profile that you had the fobi pouch.  I've not heard about that WLS and am wondering how it is done.  I'd welcome any information regarding this.  Look forward to hearing back from you.
Thanks,
Brenda
