At one year here I am!

I have been one of the fortunate ones. I have had no complications from my RNY of Sept 22, 2008 and I have lost over 100 pounds since surgery. Before surgery I lost nearly 60 pounds but that took nearly two years and didn't fix any of my health issues the way getting the rest of the weight off has. I have been stuck at 165 (which isn't bad since it is my surgeon's goal for me) for about 5 or 6 weeks and got a bit fed up at lack of progress. So I started changing up my morning routine of getting ready for work and added a 15 to 20 minute session of exercising to exercise on demand just before drinking my protein drink. This is paying off because my stall has broken for the time being. This just goes to show at one year it doesn't stop. I weighed in 162 this morning and may even be looking at the 150's for my Seattle trip next month. This is the smallest I have been in well over 29 years. Life is good and I have not felt this good in over twenty years. I think tomorrow I cross the threshold from rookie to veteran. I hope I can offer some good help and advice from time to time. Still I do look up to the others who have been here longer than I have and have braved the territory making the trail for me so much easier. Thank you Barb and Annie and Kit and many others that deserve to be named. You have all gotten me through all the jittery nerves of waiting for my surgery and the disappointing delay I had to go through. But by George here I am One year out.

Think positively and you will do fine. You will see. My results are actually kind of average and not really spectacular. But I still am happy with I have done so far.

I owe much of my success to the support you developed for all of us North Carolinians. Our monthly meetings and your continued messages online really give me a good reason to stick with it. Thanks.

Congratulations! You've done a phenomenal job!! I can't wait to be where you are at. We went to to same practice. Just curious after 1 year how often do you see Dr. Newman?
