Rash on stomach after surgery.
I would like to say first and foremost that I am thankful I did this surgery, Just have a couple of questions that maybe someone can help me with I am in my first week and developed rash on my stomach it does not itch. So I stopped pain meds but rash still here and I am in a lot of pain from gas. So started them again. Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience?
Dear Brat,

First of all, for me the pain meds only made my gas worse. Walk, walk, walk. That is what is going to help you rid yourself of the gas. Did you have any bandages with tape holding them on after surgery? I sometimes get a rash from the tape also have had it from the cleanser they used pre-op. Do you think it could be from either of those? Good luck with your recovery and welcome to the losers bench.
I agree with Barb to call your doctor, but I had a similar rash on my stomach after surgery as well. Mine was very red and inflamed where they had done the betadine swabs. Apparently I am allergic to betadine. It eventually goes away and I didn't have to take anything for it. I hope you get an answer and resolution soon.
Take care,
Take care,
Rhonda
I had a rash too. It was itchy and it last for at least 2 weeks. I attributed it to the anti-coagulant I was injecting for my first week post-op. I had to inject myself every day in the tummy for at least that first week. It may not have been that though. It could have been something else they'd put on my me. Eventually the rash went away. My doctors didn't seem to know what had caused it. I'm fine now.
