Ok so my surgery was Sept. 2 and today is the 6th and no bowel movement yet. While I know there is not much going in and I'm not really uncomfy yet, when could I expect my first bathroom moment. I have some MOM on hand was wondering if maybe I should take some. I also bought some liquid colace (stool softener) which I absoulutely cannot stand the taste so that is out of the question. Any suggestions?

Miralax (over the counter) is a great laxitive. No flavor, texture, mixes in almost anything. Undetectable in Crystal light!
My surgery was Sept. 3rd in Hickory.

you may find that with the drastic change in diet that you may need to take some miralax daily.  I do and it works great.  After my colon cancer surgery, the gastroenterologist told me it is totally safe to take everyday.

Michelle,

I found an older post on here that suggested www.laurenshope.com for med alert bracelets.

I ordered mine from here and I had it within a week.  I wear mine 24/7 and it is holding up well.

Also, please make sure your bm's are regular and you are getting enough fiber and water.  I didn't listen and ended up in the er.  The doctor told me I didn't have any fluid in my colon and it was causing severe cramping.   I had to take another prep like before surgery and it took two days to work.

Wishing you continued success,

Stephanie in Fayetteville
