Hi Genna,
Your weight loss thus far is phenomenal! It is normal for your hunger to start to return somewhere between 3 and 9 months post op. It varies from person to person of course, but what you are experiencing is well within the range of normal. You won't be able to eat much for quite a while yet, but eventually you will, so learning to manage hunger, both head hunger and real, biological hunger is important to our long-term success. I have a set of books that have been a great deal of help to me called the 'Beck Diet Solution' by Dr. Judith Beck. These are not a diet, but a behavior management tool. I strongly recommend them.
Wishing you continued success,
Barbara

Sometimes I think that I'm eating WAY too much but then I realized that its just that my perspective has changed. I was so used to eating next to nothing in the beginning that now I think my portions are too big..crazy! I notice that when I'm drinking more fluids that I still really dont get hungry...are you drinking enough? And maybe instead of reaching for some food, have a nice glass of something to drink and see if that takes care of the sensation? I think its completely normal what your experiencing...we will feel hunger again at some point. I'm starting to think more about food as opposed to actually being hungry...
