Diabetes - WLS - Amazing and true!!!!!!!!!!

For anyone out there who has Type 2 Diabetes and considering WLS let me tell you, IT WORKS.

I had my Lap RNY January 28 of this year.  Right before my surgery my Hgb A1C was 9.  My GP was going to start insulin, however I told him I was having RNY very soon. He said we would wait and see what happens.

Fast forward to now.  My appointment with him this week was the second time seeing him since the surgery.  The first time was right after surgery, and he still had some reservations about it.  His nurse called me yesterday with the results of my Hgb A1c.  It is 5.4!!!!!!  She was amazed.  It's as though the diabetes is GONE!!!!! This is the biggest reason I had the surgery.  I look great, feel great and diabetes free.

Not to say I do everything right, because I don't.  I still eat carbs. but at a minimum.  Always protein first.  I wanted to share this with you guys in case there is someone out there undecided about the surgery.  It has been a blessing in my life.

And also,  I'm in "oneder-land" this week!!!!!!!!!

That's wonderful about your Diabetes or lack of it! Congratulations on being in "Onederland" also.
You are an inspiration for me. I will have my surgery, God willing, two weeks from today.
A little nervous but OK. Jackie

It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love that is put into them that matters.

Big Hugs To You Deb!!!!!
I never knew how sick I was until after my wls.
Before surgery I was on 4 shots of insulin a day and two oral diabetes meds.
Since leaving the hospital two years ago after my wls my diabetes has been in remission.
