Issues with Duke

I posted awhile back about Duke and was warned that thier office staff is ****ty.  Unfortunately, I'm experiencing that myself and am thinking the ***** in me is going to have to come out.  I have been working with Cathy Payne (may be spelling her name wrong) and occasionally the nurse Barbara.  I may be needing to go over their heads soon.  Does anyone here know the name of someone over them I can ask for?  I actually met with some head honcho when I was there at Dr. Sudan's request since I am one of his first long distance patients and DS patients at Duke, but I cannot remember her name now.

I wrote a letter to the Administrator.   A year ago, that was Eric Demario, MD.  It probably didn't do any good, but I sent a letter of complaint to him as well as Blue Cross and Blue shield and documented the incapable staff at DWLC.  My surgery is done so I really don't care much anymore, but it is very frustrating!!!   Good Luck

You can always voice your problems with a patient advocate.
Not sure of the number but everyone has a right to complain if something is not going right.
I think many times people put up with more than they should.
Speak up and get heard.

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulty with the program. Dr. Sudan is the head of the program, so if you are having issues, I'd call and leave a message for him. I'm sure he'd be interested in the issues you are having, the attempts you have made to resolve those issues and the action you'd like to see to resolve your problems.

I hope you get a satisfactory resolution soon.

BTW... If that fails, you might want to call Duke's Patient Relations Department to see if they can help you.

 

Thanks for the replies.  I've not asked to get to Dr. Sudan directly, but I will if I visit on Friday.  I will also ask him for an email or direct line to his voicemail when I see him next.
