Hi Dee,
Since Duke doesn't allow anything but protien drinks and clear liquids, we didn't have a lot to manage in terms of carbs, fats, etc... I that the best thing for you to do is call your Nut. and ask them for this information... Not because others don't want to help you with this information, but because the dietary component of the program is probably the single greatest variable you will find from one program to another. Because of this, you find that you will get very different answers from people that belong to different programs. For example, Duke is very conservative and strict and they require their patients to be on clear liquids and protien drink diet only for the first 3 to 4 weeks, but UNC allows you to try whatever you can tolerate almost immediately and another local program falls somewhere in between.
Even though you don't have an appointment with them, you should be able to call and get these types of questions answered anytime.
Wishing you all the best,
Barbara

My general guidelines that I follow now are:
8 grams of fat or less
5 grams of sugar or less
carbs are funny.. I just limit my serving. I measure all my pasta's rice etc in a 1/4 cup and I usually only eat 1/2. But I don't eat carbs every day.
But, as always, consult your NUT.
Hey Stranger!
Great to see you. I hope this finds you well and happy.
