Confused

OK, this afternoon I decided to call BCBSNC to find out if I was approved yet my paperwork was turned in on Tuesday. The lady told me there was an authorization on file but could not see if it has been approved or denied yet. She proceeded to tell me that I would not be able to find out that information because the doctor's office had to be the one to call. She explained that only the provider and not the subscriber could find out any information about the approval decision. I have heard everyone on this website describe how they were able to call and find out. What is going on.

Call back and you're sure to get a different customer service rep. Explain how excited that you are to find out ...yada..yada..yada and see if that gets you any different results. In the meantime call the insurance rep at your docs office and tell them what BCBS told you. Trust me they want the $$$ so they are more than willing to make some phone calls to help get the ball rolling.

Thanks, I was so hoping that she could tell me something. I feel frustrated because I pay my own premiums on this policy and yet they tell me they can't discuss it with me. That is just wrong!
