My bubby, Paul, came through his surgery very well today.  Dr. Chapman was also able to repair a hernia he had.  Paul's resting quietly here at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.  He says he's not in any pain, but just a bit uncomfortable.  Sounds like par for the course.  That's exactly how I remember it too.  He's slipping in and out of sleep as I sit here and type.  The nurse has allowed him to have those blue sponge lollipops on a stick to wet his mouth until he's allowed to drink.  I remember that first night very well.  I had horrible cotton mouth that first night and I would have been even more miserable if I hadn't been allowed those little wet sponge lollipops.

Important note:  If you're coming here as a guest to visit someone BRING A JACKET OR SWEATER!!!  It's COLD as HECK in this hospital!!!!!  That's especially true for us post-ops who are cold all the time anyway.

Meredith,
I haven't had a computer for about a week and didn't realize his surgery was this soon.  I'm sorry I won't be able to come visit but give Paul my best!

Tell Paul - WELCOME TO LOSERVILLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope you both were able to get some sleep last night. He'll soon be having that wonderful leak test. It tasted Gawd awful as best I recall. Hope he was a speedy and uneventful recovery.

Congratulations Meredith as Paul makes a monumental change in his life. I know you will be happy to share a much healthier lifestyle with your life partner! What could be better! You look great by the way. I had to double check to make sure you were who I thought you were since I have not been as active on the boards. Shame on me. I need to do better!

Meredith,
So glad your husband is doing well! He is very lucky to have you help him through this journey. Take care!
