Southern Surgical Folks...How long for date?

I have my final appointment with the surgeon on this coming Monday.  How long did it take you to your date from the final appointment.  Did they give you a date then or later?  I will be using Dr. Mann.

I got my date the same day that they got the approval from insurance. I used Dr. MacDonald and my Insurance approval in mid to late June that surgery was in August. It could have been sooner but Dr. Mac had vacation scheduled for a portion of  that coming month and I had to work around office schedules to accomodate being out for 2 weeks.

Congratulations on being so close. Get ready for the ride of your life!!!

Yep same here I got my date as soon as my doctor's office received approval..Good Luck..

Thanks! I know that they have a lot of patients, I was just wondering if it would be months out.

Hey girl! I have my last apt (Endoscopy) on the 19th of Aug. Is that what you have too? So Im a little behind you. Let me know after your appointment if you get your date and so on.

I already did all the pre-op, this is final appointment with surgeon where you need to bring your spouse, etc.  I will keep you posted

It would have been about 5 weeks before I got an appt. but I was lucky to be added on a day that someone had cancelled so It was almost 3 weeks. They are a very busy office. Best of luck!

Yes, they are very busy.  I will see how it goes.  It's not really a rush, I just want to plan so I know when  I am going to be out of the office.  How are things going with you so far?

I went for my appointment and got my date the same day of my appointment. I have bc/bs and my surgery was 3 weeks after my appointment. I did not get my approval letter til after I got home from the hospital.

Oh really, well I would have been scared about that one.  I would not want to have surgery and get a fat bill later...but I am sure they know for certain if you are approved even if you don't have the letter yet...I would think.  I go in today, so I will update my profile when I get back.
