This week's Q&A

There was a good response to last week's set of questions so I thought I'd do it again this week. It's fun to learn more about each other and an eye-opener  to learn a little more about ourselves. This week let's look at  our comfort zone....

1) If you knew you could not fail - what would you do?

2) When you were in Elementary school - what was your favorite activity at recess?

3) Describe your favorite outfit that's in your closet?

4) What takes you out of your comfort zone?

5) Prior to WLS - what was your "Go To" comfort food? What has replaced it since surgery?

Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.

1) If you knew you could not fail - what would you do?
I'd go back to school and finish both degrees that I've started. I'm at a point in my life where the financial obligations hold me back.

2) When you were in Elementary school - what was your favorite activity at recess?
I loved to play sports - any sport that the boys were playing I participated in and could usually play it better. Loved football the best.

3) Describe your favorite outfit that's in your closet?
I love clothes!!!! I've been blessed by the sheer volume of hand me downs I've received since WLS. As my sizes have changed so have my tastes. Right now - there is a set of Capri bib overalls with red bandana trim that I love.

4) What takes you out of your comfort zone?
Crowds. I just don't like to get caught up in them.

5) Prior to WLS - what was your "Go To" comfort food? What has replaced it since surgery?
Chicken and Dumplings was the entire family's favorite. We ate it for all occassions - happy & sad. I haven't fixed it since surgery. I'd love to say that exercise has become my replacement - but I'm not quite there yet. I have to admit that if I'm angry I'll lace up my shoes and go for a walk in a heartbeat. Other times I'm still floundering to find my rhythm.

Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.

1) If you knew you could not fail - what would you do?
Invest LOTS of money in the stock market.  Either that or become a rock star.

2) When you were in Elementary school - what was your favorite activity at recess?
I hated playtime at recess, mostly because I always got picked last for all games and activites.  I was a fat kid!   But the only thing I was good at was tug-of-war.  That is the only thing I was consistently chosen first for when sides were chosen to play because I was bigger and stronger than all the other kids.

3) Describe your favorite outfit that's in your closet?
It's not exactly an outfit, but my favorite blouse (which is now WAY too big) is hand batiked.  The design is lotus flowers and green leaves.  It's really like wearing a piece of ART.  I like the idea that's it's so unique and so beautiful.  I love my new cute, smaller clothes too, but it's going to be a long time before I find another unique piece like this.

4) What takes you out of your comfort zone?
Anything that resembles camping, or roughing it.  I despise bugs, dirt, heat, cold, wild critters, sweat, and braving the elements, etc.  Give me room service, a mini bar, and a maid.

5) Prior to WLS - what was your "Go To" comfort food? What has replaced it since surgery?
Ice cream and Rice Krispy Treats were probably my favorite comfort foods.  Now I enjoy sugar-free fudgesicles or my Greek yogurt with fruit that I put in the freezer for a few minutes, then chop up.  I quite like the SouthBeach protein bars.  They're crunchy like RKT's.

1.  If you knew you could not fail- what would you do?

Start that underwear modeling career that I been contemplating.

2.  When you were in elementary school- what was your favorite activity at recess?

Scoping da' ladieeees.  LOL  No seriously, merry-go-round.  We'd spin it up to about 100MPH and then try to hold on.  Havne't seen those on school playgrounds lately  :)

3.  Describe your favorite outfit that's in your closet?

Oh come on!  LOL  Shorts and  a Tshirt  (34" and L as opposed to 46" and XXXL)

4.  What takes you out of your comfort zone?

"coaching" employees at work

5.  Prior to WLS-what was your "Go TO" comfort food?  What has replaced it since surgery?

Little Debbie zebra cakes.  I think they are made with whipped cocaine.  LOL  I could eat 4 or 5 at one time and still want more.  I ate them almost every day.  I really haven't "replaced" it with anything.  I try not to do comfort food at all anymore.  I will occasionally eat dry toast or with a tad of peanut butter when I have a craving.  But I try to curb that.  I also HAVE eaten a zebra cake since surgery, but just a half of one at a time.  The thought of eating 2, 3, or more makes me physically sick to even think about it.

Jason,

It really sucks when you go back and try your favs and they don't taste good anymore. I guess it is really a blessing or we would be right back in the same boat again.

Hi Iris,

Thanks for the post!

1) If you knew you could not fail - what would you do?
If I knew that I couldn't fail, I'd probably try my hand at a creative business venture.

2) When you were in Elementary school - what was your favorite activity at recess?
I'm rather a social type, so my favorite activity was Double-Dutch Jump Rope, followed by hop-scotch.

3) Describe your favorite outfit that's in your closet?
Oh my! That's a tall order! I just got a couple of gowns for my sons upcoming wedding; one of the wedding and one for the reception, so they are right up there. I also have a beautiful little black dress, and... There are now so many options, so many things that I can put on and feel pretty.

4) What takes you out of your comfort zone?
Conflict and believe it or not, public speaking.

5) Prior to WLS - what was your "Go To" comfort food? What has replaced it since surgery? Now and then I have had a penchant for carbs... Basically, anything that Paula Deen might prepare. Now, I have many of those things, in smaller, leaner poritions. Cooking Light and Devon Alexander have been wonderful finds for me. I am able to have many of my favorites slimmed down. I also tend to enjoy more salads than ever before. As long as I lead with lean protien, I seem be able to have what I need and still be able to have what I want ... or as the addage says: Have my cake and eat it too!

1) If you knew you could not fail - what would you do?
I would definitely start a business around home decorating and design.
2) When you were in Elementary school - what was your favorite activity at recess?
Kick Ball
3) Describe your favorite outfit that's in your closet?
I don't currently have a favorite outfit because I am getting rid of everything that is too big as soon as I perceive it so. My favorite outfit is yet to be discovered and right now my closet only has what I absolutely need to get by with until I have settled into a stable size. My closet is pretty empty right now.
4) What takes you out of your comfort zone?
Cold Calling sales jobs.
5) Prior to WLS - what was your "Go To" comfort food? What has replaced it since surgery?
Ice cream and Coke floats were my all time favorite food with them being individually second best. Now I stick with SF Popsicles and NSA Fudgebars. I also had an Italian soda made with SF vanilla flavor and it was awesome and I would definitely have it again if I get a chance.
