I am Home After Surgery
Angela!!! I called Pitt Memorial today to check on you and see if you were up for a visit and they said you'd already been discharged!!! So, just one night in the hospital?!? I am so disappointed I couldn't come see you in the hospital. I had to spend TWO nights and my hubby, who's having his RNY next week, was told TWO nights too. Is Dr. Pender discharging all his patients after only one night or were you doing so well they decided to discharge you early? I was so psyched for the drive over to Greenville today. Now I'm pouting 'cause I didn't get to visit you!!! But I know you're glad to be home. Welcome to the loser's bench!!

Hey, girl! We must have miscommunicated - I had my surgery on Thursday, the 16th, and I stayed at Pitt Thursday night and Friday night and then I was out by 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. :-) I am glad to be home. I wish your hubby all the best with his surgery next week. Hopefully, I'll make it to one of the Greenville meetups soon and I'll see you there. Thanks for your support and for answering all of my questions before surgery. I'm sure I'll have more to come.

Hi Angela,
I'm glad to hear that you are home and doing well. Just keep sipping, sipping, sipping and walk as much as you can. The walking will help you dissapate the gas they use in surgery and prevent pulmonary embolisms from forming. You might use a timer and a measured amount of 'liquid' ... be i****er, crystal light, etc... to be sure you are getting enough in. It may be hard to get it all in right away, but it's SOOO important to stay hydrated. Dehydration is one of the number one reasons people end up back in the hospital. Just sip, sip, sip... and walk, walk, walk!
