Well, tomorrow is my day! I'll be arriving at Pitt Memorial at 8:30 a.m. and surgery should be 2-3 hours later. I'm so ready for this. I'm excited and elated that I will be having my surgery in the morning. Please keep me in your prayers. I thank you all so much for your help so far - I'm sure I'll need you even more when I get back home.

I had my surgery on a Friday at Pitt too.  I was home by Sunday in the early afternoon.  Drink plenty of water the night before, 'cause you won't be allowed ANYTHING after that and your mouth will be dry.  They used to let you wet your mouth with little sponges on a stick after the surgery.  I think they stopped allowing that.  If the dry mouth bothers you after surgery, you could ask for the little sponges on a stick.  If you have a CPAP machine, take it with you.  Also, take ear plugs!!!  You can get them at a drug store, like Rite Aid or Walgreens.  I use the mushy kind you mush between your fingers, then insert into your ears.  They're soft.  It really helps to dampen the hospital noises.

GOOD LUCK!!!!
