Can you just stop and not lose any more weight. I have not lost any weight in 3 months or more. I have lost 80 lbs total but I was hoping to bet to a healthier BMI. I eat 1200 to 1500 calories. get in my protein and i exercise but I still see no change. I drink my water. I am following all the guidelines.

I feel your pain. I'm in the stall from HELL.(really no weight change -  since February) I really don't think it's the end of my journey. What does the tape measure show? I know things are rearranging for me (almost as we speak) and sizes have dropped once again.

I decided to go back to basics. Making sure I was keeping a log of everything that went in my mouth. Making sure that I ate my protein and drank my water. And striving for exercise at least 5 days a week.  Guess what - I had gotten really lax on some essential basics.

Today is "rededication" day. I've dug out my South Beach books because for me it didn't take a PhD to realize that I was consuming way to many carbs. Too many coffees and not enough waters. My protein needed a little tweaking. And well there's a difference between an active lifestyle and actual exercise. So armed with all of this information - it's back to basics for me. My one year is quickly approaching and my biggest desire is to be in onderland. Wish me luck.

You can do this and you're not alone. I'm going to PM you some stall busting suggestions that I got some time ago from a friend on here - hope they help.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am glad to hear someone else is struggling. Although I am not glad you are struggling. But it helps to know others have difficulties also. I am going to do as you suggest and get back to "basics".

My program recommends an 800 to 1000 calories a day when you are trying to lose weight, so it might be that you can adjust the caloric intake down somewhat. Then, the thing that really helps me when I'm trying to lose is using www.mydailyplate.com to log what I consume. It really helps me to focus on what I'm consuming the breakdown. When I consume more protein proportionate to my carbs and fats, I do better in the weight loss department. Like Iris, I've found that following a south beach type 'diet' is really helpful too.

The other thing I do when I'm trying to lose is to be sure and wear my pedometer. In the same way the logging my food helps remind me of what I want and need to do regarding intake, the pedometer helps me with making sure that I'm moving enough. I try to be sure that I get in at least 10K steps a day.

I hope that these suggestions help.

I believe I am eating too much but my nutrionist set the calorie amount. I have an appointment Thursday for the metabolic rate test. I plan to see if I can reduce calories. I just feel hungry and want to eat all the time. I don't but I want to. I do snack probably more than I should. I need to get back to writting everything down.  thanks for the advice. You are always an inspiration. I got the Beck diet book but need to sit down and read it.

At 1 year out I also stalled in my weightloss... I went to my NUT and made a few simple changes and finally the scale started to move again. Make sure you are eating balanced and getting plently of fruits and veggies... also see if you are overdoing the carbs. I would also switch up your exercise routine - try something new... also push yourself harder at whatever you are doing... remember working out at 80lbs lighter is not the same as before... always gotta be pushing it! If you are not weight training start that as well... just like you get bored so does the body so get it interested again.
1200-1500 calories sounds pretty good to me... at 1 year out I was to be eating around 1200 calories... when I hit my goal weight at 18 months I had a metabolism test and found out I needed to eat around 1800 calories a day to maintain my weight!
