Happy Monday!
It's a new week! How are you today?
Barb and Meredith are back in town! Glad ya'll had a safe trip and it sounds like both of you were able to enjoy family, friends, and manage your eating away from home for an extended period of time. Kudos to you both!
Andrea and the other (2) gals are sitting on the losers bench now. Hang in there! You made it over the hurdle.
Ann gave us some food for thought on clothing sizes and BMI's current and past.
Debbie has a beautiful new avatar!
A lot of sharing going on! How wonderful!
I completed week 2 day 2 of couch to 8k this morning. Scale is moving down again. Yeah!
Hubby shared an observation with me yesterday...
He was watching me sleep Saturday evening and he says 'you are so little in the bed!' He says you used to be this high off the bed now you are this high (lowering his hand). He says he reaches for me in his sleep and cannot find me. Past couple of weeks he has been feeling on me more than usual talking about feeling my bones now. Since I have been running, he has been watching his meal sizes and he started exercising. He has continued to support my efforts and I so love him! It is important that I take care of me because what I do affects my hubby!

I love your posts.
I need some positive energy coming my way today. Today makes 5 years since my Daddy died and it's really, really, really hard to deal with today. This may sound strange but I really wish he were here to see my weight loss. I have no doubt that he would be my biggest cheerleader through this whole process. As a Daddy's girl, I just ralized that if / when David and I get married that my Daddy won't be there to give me away.
today makes 7 months that David & I have been together. YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is the bright spot in my day.
The scales are not moving. But my favorite size 16 items are getting loose. I have a plan. I really want to hit onederland by 8-8 which will be my one year surgiversary. I've dug out all of my SouthBeach books and will be hitting it hard. I think I have been eating to many carbs - so time to get rid of those little suckers. So after lunch today (fresh tomato sandwich) it's bye- bye bad carbs. Plus it's time to shake up the exercise routine. I think I've let myself get into a rut with the walking and swimming.
Didn't mean to get quite so sidetracked - but hey you asked. ;)

I am all for the positive. We have a lot of negative stuff coming at us all day long so need a break somewhere along the way.
I am sorry to hear about your dad. I do not think it strange for you wanting him to be here and share in your journey. It is actually touching to hear. Your longing to have him 'give' you away is equally tugging at my heart.
I am estranged from my Dad and it's my own doing. So here is something most do not know about me. My dad left my mom for another woman when I was 16 years old. I was also going through some wild teenager stuff and I thought he was the meanest man that ever lived! I compared him to James, the father on 'Good Times'. No matter. I needed him to mean and handle a situation for me and due to the ugly divorce my parents were going through, he wussed up on me (making up words) and became mr nice guy (except for when he argued with my mom)! Well that did not help. I so hated him for leaving us!
Ok long story short, here I am 24 years later, barely speak to him, send him a card at Christmas, did not invite him to my wedding and certainly was not about to let him give me away. I have regrets and I know I can change this situation this very minute because he is so willing to be a regular part of my life. But prideful, spoiled Valerie is having a HARD time letting go of the bitterness that i just cannot do it.
So I cannot honestly say I know how you feel. I cannot relate to the pain you feel. I actually feel bad because i cannot feel what you feel and it's my own fault. So I am walking away from this part of the conversation. I said all that to say thank you for reminding me of what I must do, what I need to do, and one day what I will do, hopefully before he passes.
Ok, back to the positive (boy did you take me down intervention road - and it''s all good)
Yeah for 7 months! The pictures of you and David are beautiful and I hope your relationship continues to grow!
I like that you have a plan. Work it! My goal is to see wonderland by the end of September, so keep my inspired!
No sidetracks here. You are right...I asked...and you shared...and made me share some more!

As long as you're both breathing - it's not to late.
Maybe we need to schedule weekly interventions. hmmmmmmmm......... I've got a couple of years worth of stuff I could work through. Since my sons are teenager and david's kids are small - the list could continue to grow - rapidly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have some stuff there to deal with. I will keep you in my prayers. nuff said.
They closed the gym to repaint the inside. I think we are looking at 10 days of no gym. UGH what will I do? It is such an interruption in my routine that it scares me. I am afraid that I will get out of the habit. So, this morning I woke up at the usual time I would if I were going and I got dressed and went for a 30 minute bike ride. I did about 4 miles of my not flat neighborhood. It was good. No real traffic or anything. The rain held off until I was at work. So, I am glad that I did that. Tomorrow maybe I will switch it up and walk. That is hard because I love biking.
