Thanks to everyone for all of the well wishes.  i think i have finally turned a corner today and am moving around much easier.  still having trouble getting all of the protein and fluid in.  the gas has eased up thank goodness.  that was the worst part of it all.  still can't find a comfortable place to sleep.  just wanted to check in.  thanks again to all of you!

Hi Dee,

Welcome to the loser's bench! It does get easier with time. Just be sure to keep walking and sipping. It takes some time to ramp up to the amount of liquids and protein that your dr will need you to consume. As I'm sure your dr told you, getting in fluids is usually their primary concern, followed by the protein... Keep walking too to be sure that you continue the healing process and to help you fend off problems with embolisms.

Wishing you all the best,

Barbara

Hi Dee...

We are all a work in progress. When I started this journey, I thought that the goal was to lose the excess weight. Now I realize that losing the weight was a significant but interim goal. For me the real goal is learning to maintain the losses in weight and gains in health and quality of life by keeping the excess weight off. I believe that this will be a life-long journey and I'll always be a work in progress. The good news is that with attention and practice, it gets easier.

Wising you continued success,

Barbara
