Hi,
My husband, Paul, will be having his RNY surgery in less than 2 weeks.  He could really use another NC buddy to talk to now and then.  Even though I've been through it and come through on the other side, it's different when it comes from a guy.  For the past month he's been scarfing down carbs, eating fries, etc.  He weighed in at the surgeon's office yesterday and he's lost ANOTHER 17 lbs  since his last weigh in!!!!  NO FAIR!!!!    He's on his liquid pre-op diet now though.  Having done the pre-op liquid diet myself, I know it's not easy, but given his effortless success to lose weight lately, it's hard to feel sorry for him.

Haha,
Meredith I totally understand.  I must confess I really lived it up the last two weeks before my pre op diet started.  I actually gained some weight.  Then I lost 25 lbs on the liquid diet.  Everybody said I ought to just stay on that and not have the surgery...I don't think so...the two weeks was hard enough!

Just wanted to say Welcome to the NC forum. Good luck with your weight loss. I am preop but have already thought about what better food choices I can make when I eat out. I know it is tough when you are on the road.
Best wishes for great success in the months to come. Jackie

Welcome to the Forum Matthew.  I'm also a patient of Dr. Heider.  Just to let you know we have a support group at the Presbyterian Hospital in Huntersville.  I think the next meeting is the 29th at 7PM.  I see you will be having surgery that day.  Good Luck!  I'll keep you posted for the next meeting.
