CMC (Mercy) Bariatric Program?

Anybody with experience in this program?  I am very familliar with Dr. Kuwada, as he has been my father's surgeon for non-WLS issues, but I am curious about the facility at CMC-Mercy and the overall CMC program.  My mom is considering WLS with Dr. Kuwada, so I  told her I'd ask around.

BTW--If anyone is wondering why she is looking at Kuwada & not my surgeon (Dr. Bauman)-- it is b/c she will not go all the way to Concord.  Dr. B is great.  No complaints.

We have a number of members that have used Dr. Kuwada and have been very happy with him and their results...  You might try posting again and asking about him by name specifically in the title if you want/need more responses. You might also try using the 'find a surgeon' search function. If you search for him, you will find a number of postings/reviews of him.

Hi!  I had Dr. K as my surgeon, and he is the best!!!  Your mom will be in excellent hands with him.  Mercy is ok...I would have preferred to be at CMC-Main, which is my hospital of choice, but they won't do the surgery there.  Overall, my experience was well worth it!

I had Dr K as my Surgeon he is the BEST!!    Since I really don't have any experience with any other hospitals in the area I was pleased with the service I got with CMC Mercy. 

(Funny thing I am in Concord and went to CMC Mercy because my PCP referred me to Dr K, the Concord Hospital would have been closer, but I would not trade Dr K for another Surgeon.

Your mother would be in great hands with Dr K and CMC Mercy.

Your Mother will be in the Best of hands with Dr. K. I have only high regards for him. CMC-Mercy was excellent!  Mirtha and Sondra/ the Nurses were amazing. They were at my beck and call if I needed anything.

My surgeon was Dr. Gersin, one of Dr. Kuwada's partners.  I was very happy with their practice.  Mercy was ok.  I had some great nurses, I just had a bad experience with one of the nurses and the pharmacy.  Let me just recommend that when she is going to be due for her pain medicine, start asking for it early.  It took 45 minutes at times to get my pain medicine.  Other than that they were great. 

I am going to be having surgery August 4th with Dr Gersin(in the same off as Dr K). So far they have been great in the process. I just had my last pre op appt yesterday, and the entire staff is so excited for me! I really enjoy my visits to the office! I go on monday to CMC Mercy for the pre-op bloodwork.
