I agree she will be cheering me on.  She was such a great mom. I hope that I would not have too much sadness with losing foods, as I thought it would be impossible to give up soda and that was relatively easy.

Thank you for your response and thank you for reminding me she is still here and cheering me on from above!!!!

Hi Kimberly,
I am so sorry for the loss of your mom.
My surgery was already scheduled when we found out that my sister (my only living relative) was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer.  My first impulse was to cancel my surgery so that I could help her recover from her surgery and take care of her, but she told me she wanted me to go ahead and have it, because I would be more fit and able to care for her if I took care of myself first.  She was right.  I can't imagine doing the things I am doing now and carrying 100+ pounds around.
Again, my sympathies to you, and I wish you all the best as you make your decision.
((((HUGS))))

So sorry you have lost your Mom. Like Myrtis I have been in mostly a good emotional state from the time I got approved for my surgery and since having it going forward. Do let yourself have all of those feelings that you will undoubtedly have in your process but keep moving forward. It sounds as if your Mom would not want you to put anything off regarding your health and wellbeing. Look at it as honoring her best wishes for you.

Kimberly.
I am so sorry for your loss.  I am not far enough out to really help you.  I really think all the emotional stuff comes later when you have lost a lot of weight.  But I don't really know.  Just make sure either way you have a great support group.
