Hi Kelly,
I know it's a little rough right now, but the good news ... and I wish someone had told me this ... is that it gets better, much better with time. To be honest, I would have to say other than the fact that I eat smaller portions than most folks, I really eat like anyone else. I had a couple of meltdowns early on thinking OMG what have I done. I can't believe I'll have to eat like this the rest of my life... The good news is that you won't. It does take time, trial and error, and patience, but you will the hang of it. The best thing is that you and yours will most likely be healthier than you have ever been within less than a year of your surgery.
Keep putting one foot in front of the other.

It wasn't as bad as I thought. I was able to get up and move pretty quickly. But I am all about pain management and used the moriphine button often. Oddly enough I saw people write how it was so hard to get the liquids in and I thought they were nuts. And for the first few days the liquids went down so easy.. but it is getting harder and I am having to make a true effort to keep it up.
The oral pain med tastes bad.. but after the first few doses you learn to sip little bigger sips and it goes down easier... and it well worth it. I now only take it at night.
Good luck getting your Sept date..
