High protein foods and the price of food
Ok I just returned from HT OMG all my friend could tell me the past few days is how great prices were at HT NOT!!!
I love to shop and I work in a grocery store so I notice prices all the time.
OMG even my favorite protein bar has been marked up 34 cents.
Keep in mind I am the Queen of cottage cheese and have to take in so many calories each day
Because of burning so many which I even dropped down the amount because of starvation mode.
So any low priced protein rich ideas do some of you have.

Hi Valerie,
I love HT too but yesterday just was painful to check out with such few items and have to pay what I paid.
So driving home I was stressed out about the prices of things especially my protein bars OMG
thinking what am I going to do.
So I get home and have some ham salad and a some crackers and filled up quick and thought how silly of me to worry about this stuff because it takes so little.
I missed my calorie intake yesterday by 600 oh well today is another day.
I am happy your metabolisim is rocking again.
Gotta keep that fire burning.

Wow, I don't do most of the grocery shopping, so I haven't noticed those prices. Fortunately, my protein shake, protein powder, vitamin supplier dropped their prices this year, so I am actually doing better. Guess that balances the increase at the store!
I do have to say that HT is the only place I am able to find the Calorie Countdown 45 cal per 8 oz 'milk" that I love! IT's worth the price to get only half the calories I would get from skim, but all of the protein and all of the calcium.
Also, Trader Joe's has really good prices on things, much better than I anticipated. If you have one near, you may want to check it out.

Hi Annie... i'm curious... how many calories are you taking in these days????? I know you're burning thousands every day!!! Keep up the good work my friend...
GNC just had our favorite protein powder on sale, plus i use their discount card so that helps... i also us alot of red lentils.. i use the red because they cook up quick and i add them to soups, stews, pot roasts, chili's, spaghetti sauces, etc, anything that has enough liquids to cook them in. They cook up quick get soft and just kind of disappear in stuff... Stan doesn't even know i use them. But they up the protien BIG time an they're cheap, like dry beans... a little goes a long way. I buy them in the bulk section of whole foods or weaver St. market.
Of course like you said, we eat so little tht we can pay a little more for some of our favorite things...
