hello all

 hello all im moving to high point  the weekend of the 11th and i was wondering if there is any good support groups in the area  now in pa we had  a group we meet monthly and had cooking class and stuff  was just wondering what i will find in high point   

 just a tidbit  about me   i was 660lbs pounds when i started journey  lost 180 lbs pre op  in 6 months at 480  had surgery on june 18 th 2008   in 1 year  i was   182 pounds lighter  so today  i  am 298  and loving life   hugssssss alll

Wow congrats!  You have done amazing.  Welcome you will love NC.  I am in the mountains so don't know much about the groups in high point...just wanted to say hi and welcome

Welcome to the NC forum! I hope that you will find it to be as warm, welcoming and supportive as I have over the past couple of years. I know that the folks here have made an enormous difference in the success of my own journey. 

Your store reminds me a great deal of one of our other members... AnnieP59. I hope that the two of you will be able to get together some time... either virtually or in person. 

I'm not sure of the support groups in the area that you are moving to, but I believe that there are some. You might check with the local WLS programs as a starting point.

Hi there.  I lived in the High Point area for 14 years before moving back to my hometown in Virginia in the fall of 2007.  I had my surgery at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem which is about 20-25 minutes from High Point.  My surgeon was Dr. Fernandez and he and his team hold monthly support group meetings in Winston Salem.  They are usually held on the last Thursday evening of each month unless they have changed that.  You might want to look him up on this site (just click on his name under my avitar) and get his office phone number.  I'm sure they would be able to give you more up to date info.  Good luck to you and congrats on your awesome weight loss!!

It is so awesome to see you in the NC forum.  When I saw your post, I had to respond. There is a good group in Raleigh which is a bit of hike from Raleigh, but it meets one Saturday a month.  Maybe you, Krista, and Les could head up this way and meet with us.  :)  I look forward to seeing you in sweet carolina!
