Dr. Charles Carr does them in Asheville but he is very, very expensive. He also expects full payment up front if they do not participate in your insurance company.
My friend had a doctor in Weaverville do the psych eval. I just texted her and will let you know who it was.
You need to call the doctor's office you are going thru and ask them if you need to go thru a specific person. I found someone in hickory that my insurance paid and was lucky.

If you don't mind letting me know who did yours in Hickory? The surgeon doesn't care who does it as long as they are a psychologist with experience doing them. I could go to Georgia and see one on the surgeon's list, but I don't see the point if I can find one closer. Hickory is not that far and neither is Weaverville.

Dr. Cox was the only one I hadn't met. I went to 2 diffierent meeting because my mother is my support person, and I have a daughter thats 15 so I wanted her to understand what I was doing.
I love the staff. Met Lynn for the first time this week...she is kind of matter of fact, but everyone else was great.
I hope my ins. approves quickly...the waiting is the hardest part.
