Such a wonderful summer time treat if anyone likes it.  I'm 5 1/2 weeks out from surgery and I just ate a little ice cold water melon and it was wonderful!!

I agree! It's one of my absolute favorite treats and brings me back to my childhood every time I am able to enjoy it.

For those who are newly post op, be sure to tread lightly as watermelon is high in natural sugars, so you want to be sure that it doesn't cause dumping for those who have an intolerance to higher sugar levels.

I think I need to get another watermelon later today.

YUMM... Hi Charlene,

I LOVE watermelon, and it's the only thing that used to quench my thirst. The other day I was SO thirsty, I chewed some watermelon, but spit out the pulp, not swallowing it. It was faboulous.

I'm 18 months out and have just recently started eating fruits and veges... i've always wanted to "save my space" for protein, so never ate anything else... This summer i've started eating fruits  and my favorite veges... Watermelon & cherries are my very favorites, so i'm eating up a storm!!!  I'm sorry i hadn't started eating this stuff earlier, I really missed it.  I even eat salads now... i am REALLY living!!!  I'm thrilled it's summer and i get to enjoy all the fruits and veges that' i've avoided for so long...
