So Everyone, Just wanted to start a thread everyone could add a little something too. Just wanted to know what everyones plans are this summer? Anyone going on Vacation? Anyone doing some serious traveling? Anyone just staying home and enjoying it?

My summer is going a little something like this. I went to Virginia Beach earlier in the week for a couple of days and had a wonderful time with family. In the next 2 weeks, we plan to visit Virginia Beach again for about 3 days. This time we will visit the aquarium and some other sites around the beach. Of course, most of my time will be spent soaking up the rays to get rid of my elmers glue (PASTY GIRL) look. So far my tan is coming along wonderful.

We've also made plans to go with my dad and his wife on a trip to Nags Head, NC for 4-5 days. They are renting a house from a woman my father works with and it's right by the beach. We have planned on going to Putt Putt, Go-Kart Racing and renting a Sea-Doo on the sound side to play around and ride for a little while.

My last trip of the summer (at least I think) we will be joining my mother and stepfather on their week long trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. I am beyond excited. Myrtle Beach is no much fun and I haven't been there in over 7 years. They have a Hard Rock Cafe, A MedEvil Times and the place I cannot wait to go...The KISS coffeehouse. It's a coffee house that features The Band KISS in all aspects, from merchandies to decoration and is FULL of KISS memorabilia. I absolutely CANNOT WAIT.

I'm actually happy that I am unemployed this summer and can enjoy all this family time in all these wonderful places. It's a blessing really. My little boy is going to have a summer of fun in the sun and I hope he enjoys every minute of it because I know I will.

Hope you all take care and share your wonderful summer plans with us all as well.

Sounds like you're going to have great summer. I have no plans other to hurry up and get through my recovery from bladder surgery and get on with my life. Only 1 week and 2 days before I see the doctor again.

Wow, now I'm envious! We usually go to the beach in NC at least a couple of times during the summer but this summer probably not. I am in the process of getting my WLS approved and have a pulmonologist appt July 10th then hopefully see the surgeon and go from there.
I am hoping and praying for my surgery to be mid-Sept when the doctor that I work with is on vacation. So my time and money will be tied up in WLS, which will be a great thing if all goes well and next summer I can be a lot smaller when I go to the beach, though maybe a bit saggy! I hope that's how it works out.
My husband and I are going to a pool party this Sun evening. I am not planning on wearing a swimsuit in front of people or getting in the pool. Another draw back of my obesity!
Again, maybe next summer will be better, God willing!
I hope you and your son have a wonderful time at all your beach vacations!
When my kids were younger we used to spend a week at Emerald Isle every summer. I miss those times so much. My kids are adults now and make their own summer plans, though we did go to Hateras last year as a family for a long weekend and had a great time.
Happy Summer! Jackie

I am so jealious right now. Sounds like your going to have a blast this summer. But I am sure it is much deserved. So enjoy it.
As for my summer, I am taking a break from classes..which is pretty awesome. But I actually miss it now. And well I am a mother of 3 so my mother decided to take my kids for the whole summer to North Carolina. That is a vacation in itself. But honestly I miss them and I am ready to pack my bags and go see them. But for now I am enjoying the peace and quiet house and loving the pool. I have the elmers glue look going on too so I feel you there.
Have fun and enjoy yourself!!!!

It sounds like you are having a wonderful summer!

We started ours with a trip to Kure Beach and it was sheer bliss... The only problem was that it just didn't last long enough.

After getting back from the beach we had to get ready to fly to CA. I had to escort my mother home and since my son's and husband's family live here and I have friend here as well, I have extended the trip... Boy do I miss the CA summers. Even when it's hot, it's never humid and at night it cools down into the 50's.

I'll be flying home July 7th and then back to the 'grind.' Even then, I'll try to find ways to enjoy the time and will probably start my mornings with a nice walk around my wooded neighborhood.

Thanks for the lovely, positive thread.

Sounds like you're going to have a very busy summer.  As for my family it's going to be pretty quite this year unlike last summer.  Last July we flew to San Francisco for 3 day's then on to Hawaii for a week.  We'd never been there and it had always been a dream of mine.  If I ever won the lottery, guess where I'd move to??

Anyway this year is a little more laid back.  For now we're just enjoying time at home and sunning in the backyard.  We did purchase a small above ground pool to beat the heat.  Our daughter graduated App. State this year and we'll be moving her from Boone to Greensboro the fist of August.  She'll be a first year law student at Elon School of Law.  Humm maybe that's part  of the reason we're spending more time at home.

My niece from Georgia has a time share in Myrtle Beach so we will be meeting her in September for a week.  Looking forward to spending time with her and time away from work.

You sound like you're gonna be busy!  I have always love the beach, but have always avoided it due to my size.  We are going to Florida next month for a few days and plan to spend the majority of that time at the beach!  Can't wait.  I also have been trying to build a bit of a tan, I've NEVER walked around shirtless (still kind of nervous) so I have to be careful with the sun and do it slowly!

We also just installed a pool in our backyard so that is helping get aclimated to the sun and water.
