Please keep us in your prayers
We are at WakeMed. My husband has been diagnosed with a brain aneurysym. Unsure of the treatment plan at this point. He is out of the room for more tests as I type this. Just please please keep us in your prayers. I am not sure now how this will effect my surgery date. It is time for me to pick a date, but right now he has to come first.
I am sorry to hear this news. But wanted to pop in and say, my husband had a brain aneurysym when he was a teenager and it never showed up on any MRI or other testing that they did. He suffered from massive seizures because of it and finally, the doctors told him and his family that exploratory brain surgery was the only option they had to find out what was causing the seizures.
They told his family that he could die from the surgery depending on what they found once they got in there (i.e. brain tumor, etc) but at that point his quality of life was so poor due to the seizures he was willing to try anything. They found the aneurysym and fixed it and now he is a strapping, sexy, hunk of a 42 year old man who loves life, suffers no more seizures, and is the best thing that has ever happened to me. He does have to take anti seizure medication for the rest of his life but this is mostly a precautionary measure.
Please don't give up hope on your husband making a complete and full recovery. My husband's aneurysym happened in the early '80's and as we all know, extreme medical strides have taken place in the years since then. He is at a great hospital with great doctors. Please keep us updated as to what they find out and if you need to talk, vent, cry, or whatever, please feel free to PM me any time. Also, if you or your husband has any questions that maybe my hubby could answer, he wouldn't mind doing so in the least.
Prayers going up for you and your hubby. Stay strong and hang in there.
Blessings and hugs,
Donna
