Well i got a call from Dr.Mac's office today, my surgery has been denied..
don't you just love tricare, piece of crap insurance they are... I just found out my gall bladder surgery was DENIED and its tomorrow.. They want me to do 6 weeks of meds perscribed by my PCM on base then do a referal to Dr.Mac's office then we can do the surgery. WTF its tomorrow,
so i rushed to the naval hospital today to find out on Thursdays and Fridays they close the clinic in the afternoons. No doctors to talk to me.. WHAT what do you mean no one in clinic for the afternoon. No one to do my urgent referall for my surgery, i'm so pist. Keep in mind i went to my PCM about two months ago and was told the pain i am having is kidney infection. Umm guess what the pain never WENT AWAY. I ended up in the ER in morehead city because i thought it was my apendix.... i'm so mad i could just oh my gosh GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!
I don't get the red tape, so now my surgery has been moved to Aug 28th, unless they can get me in sooner..Umm i'm moving Sept 3rd to JAPAN.. what else is going to go wrong with this stupid move.
our house hasn't rented, our car we can't sell, and probably not going to see family... i'm so sick of having to deal with crap, and the Freaking pain.
sorry i'm little pist right now..
umm 6 weeks of meds isnt' it to late to do meds to prevent stones and sludge if its already there????
i mean really, tricare  i swear to god they are stupid.

oH girlie, I am soooo sorry to hear they are giving you the run arround on something so painful! I was under the empression that if stones are already there, the only way to get them out is to remove them and if there is to many stones to remove, then they remove the gallbladder. Someone at tricare has NO brain or left it at home this week. Makes you wonder what we are paying them for???

Wow, sorry to hear your having issues with Insurance, I am not sure what type of meds there going to give you for your gallbladder I didn't know there was anything they could do once you have stones.  Maybe something new happened since I had my gallbladder removed years ago but that was the only thing they told me I could do.

I wish you much luck on getting your referral and hopefully they can get you in sooner than late August.

Thanks you guys, there isn't any meds they can put me on now, due to me having two stones, and sludge in there... Dr.Mac agreed that it must come out...
Stupid Tricare, had problems with them to get my bypass, and now this..
And for the clinic to be closed thrusday and friday afternoon really SUCKS.. so i hope when i get to japan i don't have to deal with it.. I hope that our care is better there then on base here.. This has by far the worst naval hospital....
yeah i'm still fuming from all this... i'm in PAIN and now i have to wait until the end of Aug for my surgery.. just totally sucks

 Thanks lara
it just been a rough week.. Things have gone so smoothly then bam no renters, umm the movers are coming next week to ship our things off to japan, have to do it this far in advance because it take it time getting there... We where suppose to go on Leave(vacation) and see family but thats not happening now due to NO renters, and our durango sold, got the check and it was FAKE. Beware of eveything anyone.. Thank god i told the buyer they had to wait 7 days for the check to clear before we can turn over the keys.. so yeah we still have our car..
I don't complain a lot, or ***** but man today is a day i needed to just *****lol
i'm sipping on crystal light lemonaid and i sure could use a few shots of teaqula in it to make it a margrita.lol I'm not a big drinker but i could use a nice stiff martini right now..
just a little stressed is all..
thanks for the pick me up
take care

Aww... {{hugs}} I am so sorry to hear that the tricare people are being such jerks!  I will keep my fingers crossed that they will have an opening at your docs sooner...you should not have to stay in pain all that time!  As for the house and car and stuff like that...I feel you pain girlie...I hope it all works out before the big move!

My husband has tricare too and so far, so good, but who knows what'll happen with his RNY coming up July 22nd.  One of his other doctors prescribed a med for him and gave him a week of free samples.  Tricare said he didn't need any pre-approval for this med and today he went to pick up his prescription.  They told him he DID need pre-approval to get this particular prescription!!!  Apparently, the first lady from tricare told him WRONG!  So, now he's out of free samples and can't get his prescription filled!  RED TAPE!!!  He's been on the phone all afternoon and evening trying to get this cleared up.  He's fit to be tied too!  I have seriously thought about putting him on MY State Employees BCBS insurance, but that would cost a lot.  As a retired Marine he gets tricare FREE and I get State Employees BCBS free too.  I guess I should be grateful to be covered at all, when so many Americans have nothing.  That's little consolation when such frustrations come along with it, huh?  If you move to Japan, I wonder if you'll have to start the process all over again?  What a hassel!!!

I can't help but respond to you and Meredith regarding Tricare.  Maybe it's the RYN that's holding up things, I'm not sure.  I was approved in less than one week from Tricare for lab band surgery.  My husband is retired Navy and we have the basic Tricare, not the prime.  There were certain stipulations you had to meet in order to have WLS and I met them all.  I wish you both luck.  I just wanted you to know it is possible to get approval from Tricare.
