Hi Everyone,
I have been super busy and have not had time to post. I hope you all are doing well
September will mark two years since my RNY. I have been dealing with my insurance company for plastic surgery. Long story short I do not have enough *loose skin* to get approved. Yes I tried to appeal it. I cannot afford the outragous fees my plastic surgeon wants. I will be self paying and getting a lower body lift down in Costa Rica. I know it sounds crazy but they actually have a better healthcare system then we do. Hubby is going with me and we will be there for two weeks. I took a trip a few weeks ago to go inspect and meet the surgeon. I have done lots of research and this is not a last minute, desperate decision. The surgeon is also a seminar instructor and teaches our US plastic surgeons at the University of Miami, Florida, him and his staff speak perfect english and I know I will be in good hands. I look forward to getting this loose, disgusting thigh/butt/stomach skin GONE. Hope you all are doing well and wish me luck!!

The Doctors here are GREEDY! I understand things can go wrong by going abroad BUT they can go wrong here just as fast! Lower body lift here can start at $20,000 and then it goes UP. I have been quoted $25-45 thousand dollars by surgeons here in the USA. I am paying $9,000 for a Lower body lift and that will also include getting my lips done that includes EVERYTHING including follow ups, medicines, anesthsia ect ect also a one night stay at the surgeons private clinic. I will be recovering at a medical retreat. 24/7 Registered nurses care, all bandages/drains cleaned and changed everyday,medicines given, three meals a day plu snacks. hubby with me and he gets fed also in a private beautiful cottage fro $150 a day!!
I am really looking forward to this adventure LOL yes we need to get together!!

don't you just love tricare, piece of crap insurance they are... I just found out my gall bladder surgery was DENIED and its tomorrow.. They want me to do 6 weeks of meds perscribed by my PCM on base then do a referal to Dr.Mac's office then we can do the surgery. WTF its tomorrow,
so i rushed to the naval hospital today to find out on Thursdays and Fridays they close the clinic in the afternoons. No doctors to talk to me.. WHAT what do you mean no on in clinic for the afternoon. No one to do my urgent referall for my surgery, i'm so pist. Keep in mind i went to my PCM about two months ago and was told the pain i am having is kidney infection. Umm guess what the pain never WENT AWAY. I ended up in the ER in morehead city because i thought it was my apendix.... i'm so mad i could just oh my gosh GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!
On another note, congrats on getting to look Hotter then you already do.. I'm going to have to get the info from you so i can go and be pampered after surgery, instead of treated like crap.. I dont understand how we as in Americans have such crappy health care, nurses doctors. I think the lord above for Dr.Mac he is so humble... but other doctors i have came across WOW treat you like dirt..

Yes Tricare really does **** me off! It is not my fault I do not have skin hanging down to my damn knees!! I could not believe I got denied and so many others had been approved!! as far as your Gallbladder are you kidding me???? I went to Dr. Mann and he sent me for a ultrasound, went back a week later on a Friday to see him and he booked me for surgery on the following Monday and I DIDNT get a referrel from Tricare. It was considered emergency so they HAD to pay for it.
I am not surprised about any of your waiting and running around and no Doctors ect working at the clinics. The one I go to the Doctor is a civilian and he could care less about helping/treating you. He tried to talk me OUT of having RNY, told me it was all in my head LMAO He also tried to talk me out of having foot surgery one year, told me the surgeons will *butcher your feet up* ya whatever you dumbass!!
You shouldnt be having all these problems, it is not like you are going in to do it as a elective procedure. I will give you all the info you need on Costa Rica and ANYONE else that would like it. I am not going to some cave in the forest with a medicine Man Doctor LOL Do you know that Nationally Costa Rica is ranked #30 in the WORLD for healthcare and the USA is #34???? LOL does not surprise me at all!
I had my lips done HERE about five years ago. I got charged out the nose and I really wanted a fat graft done so the results would STAY. The plastic surgeon (who moved down to Florida) was a liar and told me she would do a fat graft AFTER she saw how the injections would last. OMG they only lasted 6 months and I was pissed. I have thin lips and I wanted them bigger. She did get them a nice size but then they went back down and I was told I would need a much higher dose ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$) to get the desired results. The Doctors here are terribley GREEDY and I am glad I found some place that is not going to charge me a million dollars to get rid of this nasty loose skin!!!
Good luck with your surgery tommorro, you will feel sooo much better once that thing is out!!

If you want the surgeons website and info (you can write to them, get a quote and send photos with NO OBLIGATION) send me a PM. You DO NOT have to pay a DIME till you get there. My surgeon who did my boobs in Wilmington back in 2005 had to have 20% down ASAP and then the balance before surgery.

Darcie - Good for YOU! That's wonderful that you were able to find a Dr. in Costa Rica who could help you out. I'm sad that insurance couldnt help you but they are so ridiculous with things that it doesnt surprise me either :( It sounds like you'll be in good hands and the visual is making me jelous ;p I myself will be having some "work done" when the time comes...that for SURE!

Hey Darcie. I know its not the guys place to go oh yeah cool I think its great your getting it done. But I do think its cool and am glad you and your hubby get a little vacation out of it to boot. Im still in shrink mode here and need to shrivil off about forty more pounds in the next few months myself but i finally got my bmi under 30 so i was ok with it. Im glad you posted as well, im not on here near like I was mainly due to being twice as active as I was six months ago and many times over what I was a year ago. I hope all is well at your house and yall are enjoying each others company greatly since you all got reunited back in the late winter. Take care and enjoy the new you when its all taken care of and healed up.
