Couch 25k - Have You Ever Been So Worried That You Sabotage Yourself?

Completed week 7 day 3 today

2 weeks left! Where has the time gone? Don't' care! Just glad some pounds left with it!

I have relaxed a bit about not getting my run in tomorrow. Taking a road trip to Philly to take my nephews to my sister. I had been worrying that if I do not run every day, my routine would be ruined and I would not go back to it Sunday. Especially since I will not run Sunday morning either. We'll be back home Sunday evening. I also was concerned about being away from home and not making good food choices for the weekend.

I am feeling better about it. Last weekend I posted about eating out most of the weekend due to a busy schedule and what I had 'done' to myself. The scale was forgiving this week and I realized I did make better food choices than I would have before wls, so I can do this without sabotaging myself!...And I can plan for a treat. I have packed some healthy treats for myself and the family.

I feel better and have calmed the thoughts of pending failure!

So tell me about your sabotaging thoughts and how you overcome them. Your experiences will definitely help me and maybe some other lurker out there too!

Hi Valerie,
I understand your fear completly.
What I have read and try to follow is to allow yourself some rest time this allows your muscles to recover.
I always take two days of rest from working out two days a week.
When I started this it was very hard not to go to my home gym I had to force myself to stay out of there LOL
I also have experinced not working out for over two years and then starting again it was extremly hard to do.
Now I crave it,it has become like an addiction but it is a good addiction.
If I were you I would completly enjoy your time with your family and know this is just a little holday but know when you get back home it will be business as always.
Sometimes we have to allow enjoyment and accept it for what it is knowing it is only a short break.

Thanks for the pep talk Annie!

When I first started I was only working out every other day. I got addicted to running and since week 4 I have been running every day.

I have been focusing too much on the old habit of giving up so quickly. I made some positive changes in my life so since wls and I KNOW from experience that getting complacent and ignoring the need for exercise is not going to benefit in any way.

I am looking forward to our trip and I do plan to enjoy the break!
