WOW, I have a LAP!

Today I was sitting in a chair for our school awards ceremony with some award certificates in my hand, waiting my turn to take the podium to present my Music awards.  As I waited through the many awards that were presented before mine I was applauding for the recipients.  I put my stack of certificates in MY LAP, and clapped.  Then I looked down at the certificates in my lap and noted I HAVE A LAP!!  It's been YEARS since I was able to put anything in my lap!!  What a wonderful feeling!!

After the ceremony several people who hadn't seen me in a while came up to me and told me how great I look!  I find myself grinning and saying "thank you" a lot these days.  Isn't it wonderful?!?!   I love my RNY!!!  Life is GOOD!!

The cherry on top of all this:  school gets out Wednesday!!!  WOO HOO!!  Summer vacation is almost here!!!
**high fiving all the other teachers out there**

My classroom is almost completely cleaned and packed for the summer!!  I'm ahead of the game this year for the first time!!  When I told my school secretary I'd never been able to get my room cleaned up and packed up for the summer this soon before, she asked, "What's different?"  Then she immediately said, "It's because you've got more energy and you feel better this time!"

Meredith, only people that have lost weight would understand how simple but overwhelming it is to have a lap.  I think it is wonderful.  Good for you.
Do you notice now that when you read a book or magazine that you are no longer resting it on your stomach?  Now I either hold it up or rest the bottom edge on my LAP.  My young neice will actually have room to sit.

I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't read a book recently to know about holding a book, but I have noticed that I do hold other things differently in my lap, like my cats.  They used to perch on my tummy when I sat on the couch.

Yeah on your new found lap!

My lap always pointed to the floor so nothing could sit there by itself without falling. What a great feeling!

Enjoy all that new found energy this summer!

If I am gonna eat   like a fat girl, then I gotta workout   like a skinny girl!

I can't wait to try mine out with a grandkid sometime. It really is handy for clapping when you have stuff in your hands. RNY has made a difference in so many ways its hard to count them all.
