I have hit that time when my hair falls out in gobs!  My question is for those who are farther out than me.  What experiences have you had with regrowth?  Did it stay thin?  What should I expect?

I have always has thick thick thick hair and now it is so thin.  I got my hair cut yesterday (like Kate Gosselin from Jon & Kate Plus 8) and it looks great but don't know if I can stand to lose any more hair!

Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Oh and for all of you guys meeting Shauna tomorrow~~~you are in for a wonderful experience.  Shauna is one of the sweetest and kindest people ever!!  Hope yall have fun!

Take heart...The hair loss is a temporary, transient thing. While I literally lost handfuls of hair and felt like it would never stop, it was really only noticeable to me. My hair loss stopped somewhere around 6 months and it's as full and thick as it ever was...

I'm looking forward to meeting Shauna tomorrow and hopefully we'll meet you sometime too.

Hi Pam I had the hair loss too and was very upset with it when it was happening.
I even got a human hair wig but... I am happy to report my hair has returned and is curly again and very full actually my hair is healthier now than it ever has been.

I am not at the stage where I will be losing hair from the weight loss, but I have lost hair due to chemo treatments.  I, too, experienced thicker hair after regrowth (it came back in about 4 months) and mine went from pin straight to curly!  I never had to use a flat iron in my life, now if I want it somewhat straight, I have to blow dry it straight and flat iron it.

Ask about taking extra Biotin, that's what I took after chemo and it did help me.  I've taken it ever since, and that was in 2007!  My bariatric surgeon told me to continue taking it and didn't alter my dosage.  I've been taking 4 mg. for a year and a half. Oh yeah, it helps your nails.

**Ticker shows weight loss since I started the program in December..not since surgery!

I just went through my second hairloss with in a year.  (I had 2 surgeries)....I have really pushed the protein and take the highest biotin I can get my hands on. The loss has stopped now and my hair is getting close to normal. But I used a hair thickening serum to make it appear thicker aand it did help. There are serveral on the market. I also use the shampoo that Salley's recomended for Chemo patients. I  am still using it. I don't know if it really helped but it made me feel like I was doing all I could.
Good Luck

I, like you, have always had full, thick hair. At about 3 months out it started falling out. I was So upset. I started using Nioxin Shampoo and within a week the hair loss had all but stopped. I have also been taking Biotin since I was cleared to swallow pills and my hair is growing again and thickening up. Do get some Nioxin...they sell "kits" with shampoo, conditioner and "scalp treatment'...
