OT - What Are You Thankful for?
Just needed to share...I am totally thankful for WLS and our support family, but someone else comes to my mind.
I am so thankful for having my sister in my life TODAY!
I am a recovering food addict. She is a recovering drug addict. We both are alive today due to the love of God and the long term care that we have chosen to seek to help us keep our addictions under control.
There is no cure for us, but there is hope in God and long term management. We have both spent years chasing our addictions to where it was the most important thing in our life and it has nearly cost both of us our lives.
Our addictions kept us apart and from sharing the fun things that sisters do, but no more!
I ENJOY TALKING TO MY SISTER EVERYDAY! We are in our right minds, we talk about everything under the sun. we laugh, we reminisce, and we are loving each other and growing old together!
I thank God for her each and every day!
So what or who are you thankful for?

Hi Valerie,
I was just getting ready to start a grateful thread, so I was delighted to see yours.
As you know, I have really been stuggling lately and sometimes it's hard to see the glass as half full when it feels like the weight of the world is on your shoulders. I think taking the time to articulate those things that we are grateful for really helps put and keep things in perspective.
I am soooo grateful for having the opportunity to have my WLS and all of the health and quality of life experiences that have come with it.
I am grateful for the time I have with my mother and the friendship that we have.
I am grateful to have a husband who loves me and supports me.
I am grateful to have a daughter that is a friend and a wonderful person.
I am grateful to have sons that are wonderful people and who have been blessed with beloved women that enrich and support them.
I am grateful for the blessings of the friendships that I have made on this journey and loving support I have experienced helping me through this journey of WLS and life in general.
I am grateful for you.

I am grateful for my husband, son and daughter who are tremendous blessings in my life.
I have a wonderful home and a job I love.
I am looking forward to WLS this fall. I am grateful for the many blessings God has given me. That I am as healthy as I am, though obese. I have many wonderful friends, family and co-workers in my life.
I am also thankful for OH. I have learned so much from the people here and feel like people here understand each other and most people are supportive.

Thanks! Sounds like you have many blessings too!
If we would just stop and think about it sometimes, we are SOOO blessed that it really does not matter what we do not have (and probably do not need)!
Thanks for sharing!

What I'm Grateful For
* Being part of the family of God
*My wonderful, supportive and HOT Husband lol
*My adorable and Smart Little Boy
*My amazing family and the support they've given me through it all
*This website and the AMAZING friends I have found and the people that support me no matter what happens.
*This message board
*Good Health overall
There is so much more I am thankful for but I listed only a few.
I've never really been a Jesus Freak persay, however, My grandmother is a preacher and I do go to church every Sunday. Here lately, my family has been going through alot and I've put my trust in God 100% and everything has worked out and the blessings have began to flow. I have now found that putting God first and thanking him for each and every thing is what I should've done a LONG time ago.
Also, I adore this website, the friends I have made, the supportive words of courage that you all give me everyday. Thanks so much to everyone for all you do.
Have a Wonderful Weekend Everyone!
