Hello everyone it has been a while since I have been on the board.  I have just been so busy I am glad I finally have the energy to stay busy.  I went for my one year check up May 23rd and Dr. Pender was very pleased with my progress.  I have lost 143lbs since sugery day and 149lbs since my highest weight.  I am just so happy with my new life.  I run in to people all the time and no one even knows who I am. I looked at some pictures of my cousins wedding that I was in four years ago and was floored at the way I looked then.  I am just trying to really be carefull not to ever look that way again or feel that bad.  I hope all the new comers much success and happiness and although it is a long an sometimes difficult journey for me it was well worth it!!

God Bless all of you for you support!!

Congratulations on your success so far.  I understand that it is a life long commitment and just because you are at goal doesn't mean that the work is over.  It can be daunting if you think on it too long.  I am 5.5 months out and trying very hard to learn what I need to know now while I have the advantage.  Good luck to you and thank you for your support.

Hi Lisa,

It's great to see you again and I'm delighted to hear that you are doing so very well. Isnt' it wild to have people that you recognize, not recognize you. It still happens to me now and then and it's so funny to see people sort of tilt their head to one side as they listen to my voice and try to connect my voice to the face that doesn't seem familiar to them.

It's also wild to see photos of your before self as you begin to become accustomed to the new you. I'm pouring through a bunch of my mother's old photos and have come across nearly 35 years of fat photos of me... I have to say that I recognize the old me faster than the new me.... but I was the old me for a much longer period of time.

Wishing you continued success,

Barbara

Congratulations on your weight loss! You look great! Thank you for sharing your success. I am in the preop, consultants, phase and it seems my time for surgery will never get here! Keep up the good work. Jackie
It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love that is put into them that matters.
